Craftsman dual action sander model#875.199770. how do you remove sanding pad to replace with new one?

There seems to be no feature to lock the motor shaft in place to keep from rotating so i may remove the pad to replace it.

I used a thin vise grip to hold the spindle and the old rubber pad was easily removed.

SOURCE: craftsman air compressor bearing flywheel

Your local hardware store should have one. The model number will probably not help; you will need to measure the keyway width and height to buy key stock of those dimensions then cut off the length you need.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: How do i remove the air pump assembly off my

It is in fact bolted directly to the motor. You should be able to do any repairs necessary without removing the pump from the motor. I am not sure of the set up of that motor. I'm not sure if undoing that plate will also remove that side of the motor. (Something you probably don't want to do.) If you see other screws or bolts under the plate I would assume that you are safe to remove the pump plate from the motor.

Below is a link where they have a variety of parts for smaller craftsman compressors.
I didn't see an exact match for your model however I think if you contact them they will probably be able to help you out. I'm sure that motor/pump model was used on several different models.
Hope it helps.

Why is my 5" sanding disks not sticking to my sander?

The holes are to suction dust for a vacuum attachment or dust collection bag. The sander will have a very smooth pad almost shiny if it takes stick-on discs (PSA). If not it will be a velcro pad and in that case you need the velcro discs. This description sounds like you have a velcro pad. Sticky discs wont stick to a velcro pad.

It simply unscrews. The pad is held on by a small bolt length attached to the pad. Unscrew it.

Orbital sander doesnt orbit!

Never start the Sander without first placing it against the surface to be sanded. In free air the Sander will not osolate.
