American Standard toilet settings screws not adjusted right

We have an 13.2lpf/3.5gbf American Standard elongated raised model that worked well until now. There are 2 adjustment screws on the yelow thingmadodger. What are they for and how do you set up a normal flush? The one screw must be for the level of water..but the other??

Sounds like an old tiolet (3.5 gpf) my best answer is to replace with new fluidmaster! (lowes or homedepot) easy fix!

Did you try calling or emailing the parts dept. at american standard? I am not sure if they just sell the gasket. American standard parts are certainly different from most toilets. I looked on ebay, not much for american standard toilets. Were you able to remove the four screws and get the sealer under the gasket.? I will do some more research for you and try to find parts. take care, andy

Adjust the water setting of the tank to higher level, meaning an additional water will be added to the tank. The purpose of this is to release extra water that will fill the missing water level in the bowl.

Toilets are refilling between flushes

Replace the flappers, and clean around the flapper seat.

Make sure the water level is 1/2 " below the large vertical tube by either bending the float rod down or adjust the skinny silver rod on a Fluidmaster unit.

Soap or other buildup in the gooseneck of the drain portion. Try raising the water lvl in the back of the tank and add a float to the chain attached to the flap.

American standard toilet

I have the American Standard Champion 4 toilet. Water is leaking from the tank to the bowl causing the toilet to refill. I've replaced the flapper and cleaned the surface the flapper contact. Nothing seems to work.
