How do I turn of the voicemail light on the NEC DTerm Series E Phone

    the message light is flashing telling me I have a message when i do not. I left myself a message and listened to it which would normally clear the message, however the light stays on. How can I clear this?

Try caling your voicemail and leave yourself a message and clear all messages in box.

call your service provider and they will turn it on for you...if its still not working go onto settings, network settings and then voice mail...hope it helps

Your phone is call forwarded to the voicemail pilot when busy or not answered, so just cancel the call forwarding. NEC uses these phones on several different systems so I don't know what your code is.

Nec DTerm Series i - Feature Light Flashing URGENT
Thankfully I have found a solution that has worked.

A 'winking' (flashing) feature button indicates the station is in call forward - all calls mode.

To cancel this setting do the following

Lift the handset or press speaker
Dial the access code 4 + 2 (set as default)
Receive confirmation tone and restore handset or press speaker

I have found the manual at the following link to be the best resrouce ever - very easy to understand
