Stuck battery/ScanDisk card

The battery/card door on my Canon PowerShot SX100IS is jammed and I am unable to open it. The little switch that moved back and forth is also jammed. This happened after I took the card out and closed the little door, so the card is not in the camera and the batteries are in the camera.

Any suggestions?

Same thing exactly. What do we do? I don't want to force it.

Unfortunately, you have to force the battery door (very carefully) to open it, and find what is wrong with it.

It is more likely that when closed the battery door, it was forced and it slided out of one guide channels.

You need to practice a little bit before to try it with force (genlty but with firm force), but the only way to do it is slide the button to open it, and at the same time slide to the side and pull the battery door, everything at the same time. Try it until you are able to open it.

Using any kind of tool (such a plastic pry tool, a small screwdriver, etc) to force will leave marks in the housing, and it's very possible that the plastic locking tabs will break, causing that you will open it, but unable to close properly again.

Best regards,

Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Camera is showing my card is locked how to solve this problem

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Stuck battery door on dsc p93a

There is usually a lock on the inside of the door. Sometimes you can move that while the door is open, else play with the release switch. Once you get it in the open position it should close

Canon A310 Won't Power Up.

Try checking this... on the battery door (the outside door) along the top edge (over the CF card pointer embossed in the back of the door) you should see a little plastic piece that pokes out... tis is supposed to push a small switch located in a slot over the battery compartment. It's the sensor that tells if the battery door is open or closed.. if the plastic part breaks off or gets chipped it wont push the button and the camera will not turn on when the shutter door is opened.
