I connect my iPod to my computer and neither iTunes nor my computer recognizes my iPod. My iPod will start to charge but the battery meter varies greatly. Both my computer and iTunes recognize my wife's 30gb video and her sister’s 2gb nano when connected. Can you please help me? My computer and itunes wont recognise my ipod nano. The computer doesnt even make the da-na noise for it. It used to be recognised by itunes but doesnt now, any help? When I plug my ipod in my computer a message pops up that says "Usb Device Not Recognized". What should I do?

Hi,
If your computer is recognising other ipods and not yours there is a possibility of somethin being wrong with your ipod.You can always get it replaced.Or else maybe you should check the USB cable you are using to conect.
Finally try your ipod on another computer.
This oughta help you arrive at a conclusion.
and if i helped u solve ur problem in any way...please help me by clicking on the fixya rating..
thank you.

Have you tried resetting it? Press the center (Select) button and the Menu button at the same time and hold for at least 10 seconds or until you see it reset.
hope this may help;
