My Computer and iTunes does not recognize my iPod

I connect my iPod to my computer and neither iTunes nor my computer recognizes my iPod. My iPod will start to charge but the battery meter varies greatly. Both my computer and iTunes recognize my wife's 30gb video and her sister’s 2gb nano when connected. Can you please help me? My computer and itunes wont recognise my ipod nano. The computer doesnt even make the da-na noise for it. It used to be recognised by itunes but doesnt now, any help? When I plug my ipod in my computer a message pops up that says "Usb Device Not Recognized". What should I do?

Another solution is ther asre guys who have removed the battery from the ipod and put it back and it worked.  I would suggest you return it to your dealer and they will surely replace it.

My ipod not recognized by itunes in order to reinstall the software

Connections b> The USB cable must be securely connected both to the iPod and to the selected USB port on the computer. Reattach the cable at both ends, and click "Computer" in the start menu to see if the iPod is shown connected to the drive for that USB port. b> Drivers b> If the drivers of the computer responsible for the USB interface are out of date, malfunctioning or incorrectly installed, that may also cause the iPod to not be recognized by the computer. If this is the case, the device may not appear in iTunes and there may be an exclamation point next to the device in Device Manager. b> Software b> The latest version of iTunes is recommended to best communicate with the various models of iPod. Go to the iTunes website or click "Help" and "Check for Updates" in iTunes to install the most recent update. Further, the computer must be running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 for PCs, or OS X v.10.4.11 or later for Macs. b> Battery b> The iPod's battery must have sufficient charge to be recognized in iTunes; charge it either via USB connection or another power source if the indicator shows a low battery. Once the battery has charged, try to connect the iPod to the computer via USB cable again.

ITunes will not recognize my Ipod MA444LL

There are many reasons why iTunes will not recognize your iPod, whether it's dust or dirt blocking your dock connector or a system setting gone wrong. No matter what model iPod you have, here are a few suggestions for helping the problem of iTunes not recognizing iPod:
  1. Generally speaking, when iTunes does not recognize iPhone, it may have something to do with the version of iTunes. If you are using an old version of iTunes on your computer, it may not be capable of recognizing your iOS devices. So updating iTunes to the latest version is a fastest way to get the problem solved.
  2. If you are running iTunes in the latest version, but still can't get your iPod recognized, you may want to take a look at your computer, sometimes if your computer lacks necessary software, it might lead to the malfunction of iTunes.
  3. USB port on your computer can be another reason why iPod not recognized by iTunes. So you can try more than one USB port to see whether the USB port works well.
  4. Of course, your iPod may also be the cause of iTunes not recognizing iPod. At this moment, you can restart your iPod by holding the Sleep/Wake button and Home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then connect iPod to computer with USB cable again.
  5. You should also make sure your iPod trusts your computer, because after changing a new system on computer, your iPod will regard it as a new computer. What's more, you should check out whether Apple Mobile Device Support is installed on computer.
  6. After checking out all the aspects mentioned above, you can try to connect iPod to computer with the USB cable again.
