Differing size display when using Dell 3200mp LCD projector

Hi, We have one LCD projector that we use with many different laptops. Often we have a problem with the displayed picture on the screen being too small. Is there a display setting that we need to grow the picture to fit our viewing area? Thank for any help you can give us! The laptop is a Dell Latitude D820.

Once your display of the projector is set( all connection to computers via cables is done), then all the display settings remain with the source i.e. the laptop.

You will need to set all your laptops to the correct display properties. This you can do by either going to presentation mode or on Window XP you can simply go on to your desktop and right click > go to properties>go to setting> press display 2 and set the screen resolution as per your projectors resolution and enjoy. ( for information: display1 is the resolution meant for your laptop)

Hi

Sure can be fixed.

1st of all you need to connect the projector with your laptop turned off. One the laptop has finished booting and loading windows. Hit the Fn+f4 or f7 key to switch between the displays then you will get the display.

But if this also does not give display then you can check with the projector with Video INPUTS (Eg. Input 1 / Input 2 etc.,)

Dell 3200mp lamp

are both of the lamps the same? have you installed it correctly in the socket. you might need to do a cold start for your projector. unlpugg it and try to wait for 5 minutes before plugging it again and turning it on. one your projector detected that a new lamp is intalled, it should work fine now. but if its still not working, you might want to try and replace the new lamp again. sometimes this happens.

hope this helps.

You need a replacement color wheel (that is the name of the broken plastic disc, likely glass). I have been unable to source one. Recommend you buy a used projector with a bad lamp, usually less than $100 on eBay and just put your good lamp into it. Keep your old one for parts.

Hi. My Dell Latitude E6410 does not recognize a Epson Projector, model EMP-7800. How can I solve the problem?

Hi
you must tell the laptop to display out on the projector,
how to do that?! you must toggle the display path
Generally, there is button ( with Fn keys ) have dusplay screen sample on it, use it with Fn to toggle the display
Display have 3 modes:
  1. laptop screen
  2. outside LCD projector or monitor,
  3. or bith 1 + 2

you can press the keys 3 times ( at maximum ) to have the display on both laptop screen and projector

Good Luck

Replaced the lamp in my Dell 3200mp projector when the lamp indicator came on. After replacing the lamp indicator is off , but the lamp will not even attempt to light. Anything else I can check?

Hi,
did the old lamp fail? Or did the lamp light just come on?
Firstly I would disconnect the mains and carefully put the old lamp back in. Test the projector. Then put the new one back in and test.
There can be problems with lamps not being seated correctly, and/or the lamp cover not being fully closed.
Post back for more help if required.

Dell 3200MP projector. Lamp warning light comes on after approx 30 minutes of use and the lamp turns off. Bulb is new. I am not sure what the warning light is indicating.

The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work
get a small fan and place it near the projector to provide
extra cooling. The projector is running border line on
high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

Dell 3200mp

Hi Lagnitta

Take out the lamp and check for any irregularities like discolouration and marks.

This is unfortunately dammage to the lamp and the lamp will need replacement.

Thanks for using Fixya.
