My turntable has a crackling sound that makes the sound fade i & out . what could be the problem?

I assume you mean the output makes the crackling sound, not the turntable itself.

Is it only the turntable doing this? No other source? If yes, turn off your receiver and manually operate every function and control throughout its range and toggle every switch and button repeatedly to remove oxidation. The Tape Monitor control is famous for causing droputs even when it is OFF.

Listen carefully to the sound.

Is the sound dropping out or is the volume fluctuating?
Is the turntable tracking proerly or is it skipping, lifting off the platter?

Is it on both channels, one or random?

DE-select the phono on the receiver so the following is not passed through to the speakers.

Remove and reinstall the RCA phono plugs from your receiver using a twisting motion to remove oxidation. How is it now?

I have a NAD turntable. I have noticed that on occasions there seems to be a background crackle.. Thought it was dust at first !! Have swapped the connection over where the turntable plugs into the amp....
Either you have a poor earth connection or you are getting a lot of static from the records you play. The best way of getting rid of static is a spray you can get for cleaning records. Search on-line for Anti-Static Record Cleaner.

Rattling, crackling type noise just started and is constant when microwave is running.
A couple of months ago my microwave started making crackling, rattling and grinding sounds everytime i used it and i thought it was going to break down. It turned out one of my children must have spillled or overflowed something with a clear liquid because the micro did not look dirty but there was a crunchy substance under the wheels of the turntable. Once i cleaned this up totally the noises all went away.

Unplug everthing. Reseat all connectors, Did you replace the cartridge when you replaced the stylus? If so, verify that the 4 tiny tiny wires and connectors are on tight. Also, some of these turntables have a 'knob' built into the tonearm that you need to twist to release/lock the whole head assembly of the tone arm. Try to see if you have a removable tonearm cartridge assembly and then twist this tight. It sound like its in the wiring from the cartridge to the connectors to your preamp. The levels are so low, that any loose connection will be amplified 100 times.

Everything works on my record player but my turntable doesnt spin
This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!

Turntable Crackling
sounds to me like your fader has popped! lube contact spray will not solve the problem, it will only clear it up for a few passes if any! PCV faders have covers inside which stop any lube getting right on the contacts! but in my experience as a scratch dj for 11 years is that contact spray only make the problem worse over time! best shot from here is to replace the fader, or get a mixer with optical/contactless fader i suggest a mixer with the 'eternal' fader i.e. ecler 360/80hak. hope this helps

GE XL 1800 quit heating
I don't like to pass on your problem but it sounds very much like either the high voltage supply ot the magnetron has bit the dust.
Either one would make the repair marginal at best.

This is apparently not a very good unit, many microwaves jsut kind of fade away as their magnetron emissions decay.

This one seems to have a bad rep. look at this link:
