Recently during the spin cycle on our Maytag front load washer, the washer gets very loud. It does not sound like anything grinding or squeeking, maybe a rubbing sound, but a consistant loud sound. You can hardly stand at the machine and talk so someone in a normal voice????? I have a MAH4000AWW washer and it makes a loud noise during the spin cycle. During the spin cycle the machine will stop and the restart which I believe it is balancing the load. It makes the same noise when I ran a complete cycle with only one bed sheet in the tub. It is a metal to metal sound and while inspecting the front seal I found some debris around the rubber seal and drum. Any one have any ideas?
Is it more like a roar or a train going by? if so your rear tub bearing is going out. very expensive have to replace the tub, basket, spinner ring and shaft and seals about 4 hrs for an exprienced tech to do took me 7 hrs to do for the first time. but it will be very close to $1000 to have done not much less to do it yourself.

washes normally but makes loud roaring noise on spin cycles. suspect a dry / worn bearing.
