My laptop has been playing dvds perfectly well since I bought it 3 months ago. Now they will play, but if I try to watch them in full screen they go 'choppy'. The audio and visual are not in sync and it seems to go slow.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be really appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you tried converting with SUPER (scroll down all the way to the bottom, the download link is one that looks like an advertisement)? It seems like when iTunes converts your original videos it doesn't properly convert\encode the sound. Personally I use SUPER to convert different DivX\XviD files so I can load them on my 30GB iPod video.

Did you use iTunes to convert video to iPod? If yes, try other iPod converter, because iTunes cannot convert muxed video (muxed video means the audio and video are on the same track). Muxed video converted by iTunes will lose sound. You can learn more about the problem from apple official document

Try Aimersoft iPod Converter Suite. I think it can help you. Here is the guide page:

Hi,
Bad news. Your screen is bad and needs replaced. Good news there are a number of companies that will fix that beside Apple. Bad news. It will cost about $60 unless you can do it yourself. Hope that helps.

That means that the inverter board for the LCD has gone out or there is a bad connection internally and it is not getting the signal to display the info. Your best bet is to see how much Apple wants to fix it. If it is too much I would say time for a new one. Fry's Electronics is selling the new 8GB Nano for somewhere between 139 and 159. That is their regular price.
