Stylus for Intuos 3 sticks sometimes

My Stylus seems to be sticking in some manner so that sometimes it takes off by itself and leaves a trail and sometimes I have to give it a positive touch to complete a lasso movement. It also seems to be unable to move smoothly when I attempt to scroll with it and again, to stop the scroll I have to press down with it to bring the scroll to a stop.
I have tried removing the nib and replacing it but that doesn't seem to work. I even exchanged it with a nib from another pen (not the pen for the Intuos) and that didn't seem to work either.
Is it the pen or ??? Anyone who can help I would appreciate an answer. Wacom didn't give me much support when I asked them.

Is there a way to fix the error inside the stylus that you talk about or do I have to buy a new stylus?

My motherboard cant see the 512 ram

sometimes, the apg card video ram, especially with ati rage cards, takes away from the maximum visible system ram on 815 chipsets- which is normally right at 512mb. the motherboard also might be limited on what archetecture of ram is being used. i believe an 815 ram controller an only recognize 4 ram banks at once, each bank being a side of as stick . if you have 3 double sided sticks, the first 2 may be occupying your ram controller (2 sticksx2sides=4), leaving no room for the third. those old boards are real picky about ram sticks, some just arent compatible.

try changing your video card, try using single sided ram sticks, or just plain different ram sticks.

Black screen 3 beeps when i turn it on

Firstly, many of your components are highly sensitive to static shock (the poke you get from touching certain things), so take care to avoid exposing computer's components to this.Try changing your RAM\Memory. Or just remove one stick and then try turning it on. If it works, then the stick you removed is causing the problem. If it still doesn't work right after removing one stick, then take out the other stick of RAM and put back in the one you took out to begin with. If you get it to start, then most likely the stick that you have removed is the cause of the problem. Try putting the sticks in different slots (one at a time) as well. Sometimes the slots go bad but not the memory. If you tested the RAM and the slots as described above and it still won't come on, then you may have some more severe problems that may require you to have the motherboard replaced in order for it to work right. Such as, the video chip is malfunctioning (this is affixed to the board and not easy to replace, the chipset is burned out (again, affixed to the motherboard), & etc. Please leave feedback about this solution. Thank you!

I need help! My intuos 3 pen is wacking out! it is over selecting things... how do i fix this? my mouse is not doing it, but the pen is. I took it apart and cleaned it...which seemed to help a little...but...

Soooo many people have this problem. Try hitting the pen head into your palm and do the same with the eraser. This worked for me. Something about the humidity and making the pressure thing in the pen stick. I hope this helps.

MS-6378X-L 512 Ram not working. My motherboard will not recognize the double sided 512's i got. what could be the problem? it takes one sided 256 and double sided 128 not problem.

1. this may be due the manufacturer or your mounting of the RAM itself. It is hard to tell from what you have described.
2. Some RAM sticks may not be built for you PC and take particular brand or configuration which your manufacturer of the PC will point out in the installation manual that came with you PC or Motherboard ( if you built the PC yourself)
3. Sometimes there is a hardware conflict when upgrading new hardware in an older PC.
4. there is also the contacts in a PC that have not been cleaned properly that will result in an failed installation of a device.
5. Some Mother board manufacturers only 2 require sticks of ram as opposed to 1 stick in a particular motherboard for proper operation.
6. check your manufactures site for the proper ram sticks to upgrade your motherboard with.

Intuos 3 Pen/Stylus suddenly stopped working (as in dead).

Will the tablet work with the mouse? If it does not, is not working is the blue LED light on. If the LED is not working try another usb port. If the mouse works go into the Wacom tablet properties from the start menu. Select the grip pen from the tools. Click on the default button to restore the stylus to factory settings. When you press the pen you should see the pressure scale rise. You can also test the eraser pressure. You could also replace the stylus tip to see if that works. From the Wacom site you can order a new stylus or tips if it is found defective.

Compatability of Memory Upgrade

DDR RAM needs to be installed in pairs, as in if you have two 1GB sticks these would, in a four slot board, be inserted in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. The other odd 512MB stick could go in any other slot theoretically speaking. But, you would be better off leaving it out. The SPD chips on the two 1GB sticks should match themselves to time at the slowest common or fastest common denominator.

There is a chance that by having the odd bank population that you said worked for awhile installed as you had, that the MB RAM slots were put under unusual voltage stess. There is a pretty good chance you can remove the 512MB stick, leave the two 1GB sticks in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. But, this is VERY important: consult your board manual or access it online and read what the population requirments are for the slots as in some cases, the two matched sticks go in 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. This little oddity is found from time to time.

Consult your manual or download it and read how the slots need to be populated and stick with the two 1GB sticks.

There are memory testing programs you can find for free at majorgeeks dot com and test your RAM once you have it populated correctly.

In the future, I'd suggest you purchase RAM from Kingston or Corsair directly online as they usually offer a lifetime warranty and this RAM right now for you board is dirt cheap.

Hope this FIXED, as in ANSWERED you question and was more than helpful. Should you feel compelled to rate this solution after reading, either rate it FIXED or not at all. I know its helpful by default, that's what we do here. But only a thorough answer can FIX your situation. You should be fine if you follow my instructions. But, please consult you manual.

'Lag' or Trailing Line

I just did some more experimenting and it seems that if I replace the tip of the pen, it starts to react better, not great, but definitely better.

Again, I'm using an Intuos 3. On the Intuos 2 I was using, if I replaced the tip, it would improve, but I was going through tips every two months or so. That's why I bought the 3, thinking it would be better because I've never experienced this problem with my 3 at home (these problems are all happening at work). I'm not sure which tablet your have or if you have the spare tips that come with it, but that might be your solution.

Also, check your Wacom settings and make sure the "tip double click distance" is set to "Off". That should help a little.

Another forum post suggested not using the stylus stand or holder. It could...not sure that it actually does...damage the stylus tip so that it reacts as if pressure is being applied. My stylus at home is always in the stand and, since it does have this problem, makes me wonder if this is valid....but why chance it...different stands and different stylus.

Good luck and hope this helps!!!

Sony TV keeps flipping to Memory Stick screen by itself

My sony HD TV started automatically flipping to the memory stick screen by itself. I thought maybe the remote was malfunctioning so I took the batteries out of the tv's remote as well as the cable boxes remote. Still does it. If I hit the memory stick button on the remote to switch off the screen sometimes it goes back to TV screen and sometimes it doesn't. Eventually, it flips back to the memory stick screen. Is this a known problem for this TV? your problem in system control section check aft &tuning ckt &its voltages check for loose contact in above ckt check tuner thanks
