"With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS.."

yes..... you need to unplug (power) the player for 10 - 15 mins... plug back into wall, but when you do this press the stop/open/close button (because the player will try to load the disc).....

The one I have was already broken besides the progressive scan. Unlike the other solutions, for mine I had to open, then close the tray and while the screen displays read, I pressed the Stop button and held it down until the progressive blue screen disappeared.

In order to have access to the Preference screen, you need to have the CD tray closed with NO DVD/CD in it. If you have a CD or DVD loaded in the tray, the Preference menu is disabled.

Unlock procedure..

press Setup
select the Preference Tab
Press 1,3,8,9,3,1
Press up/down key to select "0"
and hit menu to exit.

Hi,

For a Toshiba SDK740SU, to remove a stuck disc:
1. Remove the top and front cabinet cover;
2. once exposed, slide/move the Rack Loading (white) towards the right with a sturdy instrument such as a common screwdriver;
3. draw the tray out
Please refer to image below:

The only possible easy user workable reset is to unplug the unit for quite some time.

Should the above be not corrective, pls post back whether you have the 740SU or the 740SUA version.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

my name ahmed , your question is DVD+VER doesn't work.
anser:- your dvd in that before power button pressing you one are two time shake or move in side some ma sine stuck .after that you power button press and Shaka and se other wise any sk ru driver take and open and where we keep cd there check some stuck will be that's shake one time and close.again try.if not came send me your ? my name ahmed687 please send me only your ?and accept my answer
