click start control panel administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll down cd dvd rom drives right click you can you can update driver,roll back driver,or
select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall

Hello makubi, hi, on windows you don't need the driver. windows already has one installed, if you cannot find the DVD drive on the my computer most likely you have a problematic drive. try using a good DVD drive. or swap the drive to other computers to confirm if the drive is bad. If on other computers the drive is still bad replace the DVD drive.

I'll recommend you to directly try Driver Detective and let the software have a free scan to automatically detect & update the missing LG drivers. This way things can be much easier & efficient. Also you don't have to risk install wrong drivers which might cause severe system issues.

Try to uninstall/reinstall driver from Device Manager or check if the driver even exists. If not, have it personally checked by a local technician. It's either defective or just lose.

I had the same problem with the GH22 Internal drive on vista. Assuming this is the only cd drive you have, just go to the device manager and remove/uninstall anything under "DVD/CD Rom Drives" then restart. It should get picked up and recognized properly. It took a couple of restarts to work. For refrence, I only have the LG GH22NP20 installed, what appears in device manager are 2 items... (1)HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NP20 SCSI CdRom Device... (2) KU1051Q EAG855E SCSI CdRom Device... Incase you have multiple cd drives, this should help tell em appart. Enjoy. IDK399
