The Apple browser, called Safari, is part of the operating system updates. When you update the OS you will get the most recent browser. The latest Apple can be downloaded from the App Store.

Your operating system may not support a later browser...my OS 10.4.11 on an old Mac Pro can't be updated.

Is it actually your computer/software telling you this or is it just an ad on the page you opened? Sometimes these websites are set up to scare a person. Which AV software are you using? And which OS do you have on your MAC?

Google' Chrome browser is not supported on the PowerPC (G3 and G4) systems. You can however still find an optimized and up to date version of Firefox http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
