You need a television remote. The Spectrum remote only does simple features. The Magnavox remote is available on Amazon and eBay.

I opened the TV, but no "switch" on the PCB to do a "reset to factory". ... You almost certainly need the remote, and also the service manual that .... and I was able to get into the menu by remote and to disable the Child lock.

THE SOLUTION FOR THIS FIX, AS IT WORKED FOR ME....I WAS LOCKED OUT BBY THE DUMB CHILD LOCK FOR TWO MONTHS, BOOUGHT A NEW REMOTE THAT DIDNT WORK....GET A 10$ REMOTE FROM THE STORE, AND ENTER CODE 0224 IT KILLS THE CHILD LOCK FEATURE..THEN YOU CAN POWER ON THE TV..GO TO MENU AND SELECT CHILD LOCK AND DEACTIVATE IT! take ur tv to someone local who fixes tvs. they will have a magnavox remote. use the remote and press tv/av simultaneously pressing enter

you will need your original remote control and go through the menu to unlock it. find your original remote control by typing in your TV model number in the search on www.replacementremotes.com and your original remote will pop right up. very easy to use.

Get a universal remote to do the above.
