Shutter speed and apertue not working for Nikon D60 Digital SLR

I have Nikon D60 Digital SLR. When I use either the S (Shutter mode) or A (Apperture mode), both the modes does not work. i.e. the shutter speed or the aperture does not change. Urgent help required

Yes the camera operates in other modes. its only in the P, S and A modes of D60, the use of command dial to change the shutter speed/aperture does not make any difference to the S/F number displayed on the display.

What about other modes?
Can your camera still take photographs?

You can Try the following;

Remove the batteries , as also remove the memory card. wait for about 5 minutes. Then install the only the fully charged batteries and restart the camera. Try to use the shutter or Aperture mode, hopefully, you turn it on it and should come back to life.

If not, then it best to show to the nearest Nikon service center..

To use Metz 45CL-1 with Nikon D5100, you need use in apperture priority mode (A), adjust same ISO and apperture in Flash and Camera (Ex: ISO400 and F: 5.6) . The flash adjust light intensity to mantain correct exposition. You need use an adapter to conect Sync cable in your camera.

My shutter speed is very slow and when I take pictures I think when it's dark is when I notice the problem but the picture will not take. Also if someone moves their face is blurry.

What mode are you shooting in? It seems you may either have your shutter speed set manually to a slow speed or, alternatively you have set your apperture set to a high number e.g f/20 or there abouts. Because this is a very narrow apperture the camera will compensate by using a slow shutter speed.
Try some shots in fully automatic mode and see what happens. With a slow shutter speed you can expect any movement to produce blurred images.

A few basic checks Are you in full auto mode or some other shooting mode? Try different modes and see if any work. Does the shutter speed seem slow - like you can hear it cl - ick. When photographers want a blurry effect, slowing down the shutter is often used. Change mode or set a faster shutter speed. If none of these lead you anywhere, the imaging system that scans the imaging chip may be faulty. that's not a home repair.

I can't change some of the settings on my Canon 50d, using any of the creative mode settings. Mainly ISO, Aperture and shutter speed is what I can't change.

they are preset by camera in modes.ie sport.fast shutter,wide app.switch to apperture priority etc.

According to what you say, it seems that you selected B (Bulb) as shutter speed (and MANUAL mode).

First, check whether you are on MANUAL mode ("M"); then, check your shutter speed. If it's really in "bulb" mode, all you have to do is dialing the speed button down to figures that match your subject's light conditions and your other preferences involved in the exposure (ISO, lens apperture).

Your're probably using a flash with TTL disabled. So 1/200 is the highest sync possible with that kind of flash. Did you try removing the flash off the body and setting faster shutter speeds?

I use first time nikon d60.

it would depend on the lighting. you can lower down your shutter speed, or change the white-balance or aperture on the camera. make sure that your camera is set on manual. hit me back on the results.
