If you've used the player while hooked up to the charger this often kills the battery and you will need a new one.
Never use a phone or battery operated device through the charger. Always just let it charge!
Has it held a charge before?

SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

My sansa mp3 will not charge when I plugmit into my computer

Maybe your cable has a broken wire in it. This happened to me and I had to bend the cable back and forth. When it connected so I knew it was the cable, I just got a new one.

Battery does notfully charge

I have a similar problem but when I use mine, it lasts 3hours per bar on the meter. It only does up to 98% and it overheats. If you take it off and let it cool and monitor it as it charges, you can get a full battery. Take it off charge around 70% and turn it off. Wait 2 hours and put it back on charge until it reaches 100 then take it off and it is charged. To see the battery charge

My Computer > Sansa Clip ?gb (Right-Click) > Properties
Look down at a battery shape with a green bar and a percentage beside it.

My sanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player will not charge anymore. At least not on the computer I'm on. I have had it hooked up to charge for 2 days now and nothing. Why is this and how can I charge it?

This is direct from the sansa FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs 02. Why won’t my Sansa Clip charge when I connect it to my computer? USB Cable
Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable.

Computer in Hibernation mode
Make sure that the computer isn’t entering hibernate or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be on in order to charge your player.

USB Port 2.0
Make sure your player is connected USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).

USB Port location
Try plugging in different USB port (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); sometimes the front USB ports have problem charging up the device.

Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.

Latest firmware
Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

I hope this helps, and don't forget to rate the answer.

CHARGING A 1 DAY USED SANDISK SANSA MP3 4G

Run the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisks' website and start over from scratch. Usually this problem is caused by trying to transfer too many songs at once, but any number of Rhapsody errors could have caused this.
