Since you neglected to specify the model of your VTech system I can only suggest you enter it into the search box here to download a copy of the manual.

SOURCE: how can i find the manual for my vtech digital

google the model information that you provided in this post followed by the word "manual". A PDF file of the manual should be one of the options.

Hi there. You can find a manual here. I believe even if it's not the exact model of your phone it holds applicable.

How do I change the message... we set it a few years ago...can't find book

Oops, I posted the info for this on the VTech problem below sorry.

To change the message, first make sure your phone has the correct date, time, year, am or pm, etc.

Now, to Record Greeting - if you don't record your own greeting, a pre-recorded greeting message is used.

So, try this:

1. (Menu) press
2 (Go to Answering Device" with up/down arrow, press OK
3 (Go to "Record Greeting" with up/down arrow, press OK
4 After the handset beeps, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away from the
microphone.
5 To stop recording, press (OK)
6 (OFF)

Hope this helps.
