Need assistance hooking up a surround sound system

Yes, all speakers operate on the same principle. Though depending on the resistance of the speaker, usually 4 or 8 ohms, it may place too large a load on the source driver. Try it and see.

Check in your speaker setup menu. Sometimes you can select between using the surround back speaker jacks as "B" front speakers as well. You would have to tell the unit which one you want to use it as.

Well, since the "regularTV" has no make or model number I will have to guess what outputs it has to suit your surround sound system which also has no make or model number! Using outputs that show left and right speaker channels wire each to the left and right speaker channels of the surround sound amplifier. How many, I don't know!

First thing to do is get the owner manual for each and start checking both settings and actual hookup---usually a surround system will work on all types of sets---when in doubt read the owner manuals.

If need either manual Google that model number with "manual" to try to locate it.

As far as the set goes it may require either a variable audio output source or in some cases the out to be a fixed level.

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.

If your speaker have wires that are hooked directly to the speakers and there is no terminal, you will have to splice new wire onto the existing ones. Be carefull and use crimp connectors, available at Radio Shack, these connectors are best because they will keep the speaker wires from touching and damaging your unit.

its garbage. Look up 'white van speaker scam' on the internet. Try getting your money back if you can find the scammer who sold it to you. If you do get it to work, it won't last long and I've heard that it sounds cheap.

Thats because if you look in the owner's manual, it declares the fact that it will only broadcast sound from hdmi to monitor not speakers. For sound out of speakers need to connect additional audio cable.

You have the mode selector for the surround sound on the wrong switch setting. Look at the owners manual to see what setting you need for synthensized suround. Go to http://www.samsung.com if you need an owners manual. You will find it with a little bit of searching. Good Luck
