Just bought a kenmore standup freezer at a scratch and dent warehouse. on plugging it in, the temp. control is flashing E 9 repeatedly. it is running at a good temperature but i can't adjust it...any help would be appreciated.

Bought a 14 cu Kenmore standup scratch and dent sale. Few days later display is flashing "-10 E9". I silence the alarm and it reset. Every couple of days it pops up on display again. Freezer is still cold and nothing seems wrong with cooling circuit.

My problem seems to have gone away. I checked the wire bundle connector that goes from the door to the area under the freezer. It may have had a bad connection there. After checking the connector freezer worked fine. Only thing I had to do after was to defrost my coil. I guess in the E9 mode it skips the defrost cycle.

Look online and see if you can find an installer's manual. Sounds like the control board hasn't been set to your model yet.

Freezer wont freeze beyond a chill. Please Help

Sorry to say that this happens a lot. More then likely there is a refrigerant leak and the place you bought it from had it charged right before you saw it. That is why it worked then, but not when you reached your destination.

Kenmore freezer deforsted suddenly. Comes on

compressor relay is probably going out...also check the plug in to the wall. A intermittant contact is a matter of following the source to the compressor. start at the plug and through the temp sensor/ t-stat defrost control and down to the compressor. but ususlly the compressor relay is the culprit.

Kenmore commercial standup freezer alarm

Sounds like the temp sensor is bad or intermittant. Check the connections to the display to see if they are loose. If not, the sensor might be bad, causing it to read the wrong temp. The fact that it is jumping around like that points to this kind of problem.
