Re: I purchased the LG Cookie in the UK and was working...
Sorry, i've just figured it out, that the problem might be because you're using 3G card, if it uses 3G not only for internet but also for calls and messages. I think that's why your phone does not accept your card.
AT&T is GSM but I think it's a problem with the sim card being 3G. I used an older sim card from AT&T and that worked. It's very strange but this is the situation. If you can help, please let me know. Thanks
Thanks, I will contact LG and hope they can figure what's going on.
Thanks, that's what I figured but how can the problem be fixed? and why would LG make a phone that way?????
I have AT&T and I just bought the lg cookie and it keeps turning on and off, when my SIM card is in. It is the 3g kind of SIM card. The phone works if I leave the SIM card out. I have an old SIM card and tried putting that in the phone, it stops turning on and off, but the phone says the SIM card isn't valid.
Very strange. You see, the card, in my opinion, has nothing to do with 3G. It is the phone that supports 3G or not. LG KP500 as far as i remember doesn't. So if you plan to use internet on Cookie you have to use GPRS or EDGE instead. But back to your question - why your phone keeps rebooting i don't know. Maybe it shows something on the screen before it reboots? And have you tried to contact AD&T or LG repair service? If the phone is new, there should still be a warranty.
I'm not sure, i've never been in USA, but maybe AD&T works not on a GSM, but on a CDMA?
