Riccar brilliance vaccum: beater bar will not turn

The beater bar will not turn and there is no obstruction. I have taken the bottom off and the belt is still on there. How do you take the top off the head to see if the belt is off?

SOURCE: beater bar on Dyson upright won't turn when handle is lowered

I have finally fixed my sister's dyson dc 15 beater bar problem. It was just 2 tiny broken wires connect to circuit board lead to the beater bar. The wires broke where they go through the black rubber gommet. You need a torx screwdriver tx 15 to remove 2 plastic covers to access the wires. When looking at the front of the vacuum, the gray covers located on the right side of the vacuum. 1 big cover with a black rubber gasket and other small gray cover is on the rotating ball area.

SOURCE: beater bar motor will not engage

Check your clutch to make sure it's engaged. There should be a knob on the foot of the vacuum that can be turned to stop the roller.

SOURCE: dyson DC 14 lost suction to beater bar/ suction to hose/stick

My Dyson DC14 had no suction...see if this works...turn the Dyson upside down...there is a length of hose that connects the bottom of the vacuum to the top, careful remove one end of the hose and check for debris...mine was clogged. Removed the clog and voila...it works. Thanks for the above info on checking the hose for cracks.

My Dyson vaccum leaves a row of multiple lines on my plush carpet. I've never had s vaccum leave more than the two wheel lines. I called customer service and they had no solution for me!

It's the beater bar brush. Turn it over and use a screwdriver or knife, and run it the full width of the beater bar to remove the hair and string and other debris that get wound up on the beater bar-NOTE you do NOT have to remove the beater bar or take apart anything. As long as the beater bar spins, and there are no missing sections on the beater bar- this will work. Beater bar could also be worn down- be sure that the bristles extend past the bottom of the vacuum- ALWAYS DO THIS WITH THE POWER OFF

I can't reset my thermal reset button on my Riccar Brilliance

You may have hair and debris in the endcaps or bearings of your brushroll causing a restriction. The belt sensor thinks you have something stuck in the brushroll so it shuts it off. It's a simple fix, if you can't figure out how to do it take it to your Riccar dealer.

Riccar upright beater bar won't spin

Start by replacing the belt. Stretch belts should be replaced at least once per year because they lose elasticity. If that doesn't solve it have it check out by your Riccar dealer. It may be the clutch pad or might need adjusted.

Beater bar not turning with belt

If it spins freely the belt is probably broken or it needs adjusted or has a worn part. This is an inexpensive thing for your Riccar dealer to do when you have your vacuum serviced.

Replace belt on Riccar Brilliance

The Brilliance has a lifetime belt but if it gets overheated it can get warped and comes off. Normally you do not need to replace the belt unless there is a problem. You have to remove the cover over the power nozzle assembly by removing the screws on the bottom. Notice how the belt goes around the motor shaft and through the "Hall Assembly" which is the spring loaded lever that detects a jam and shuts the brush roll motor off.

Is the bottom hose from the beater bar up detachable to to remove obstructions?

Are you sure there is an obstruction? Even though the brush is spins, you probably need to replace the belt2_bing.gif because it is stretched. It is probably slipping on the beater bar..

The brush isn't spinning

the belt is broke. you can buy a new one for around 5-10 dollars at target or walmart, or loews or homedepot.take the screws of the bottom panel to expose belt. you will have to pull out the beater bar to replace the belt. just pull on it after the bottom plate is removed the beater bar just slides out. slide the new belt down the beater bar then pull the belt over the spinning pin. now stretch the beater back to its original position it should slide right in. replace the bottom plate and your back in business
