BLACKBERRY 8700 HOURGLASS HELP

1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength.
2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery.
3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover.
4.Remove the battery.
5.Wait 10 seconds.
6.Press and hold the W key.
7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery.
•The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears
•Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds.

App Error 523 usually happens after loading incompatible 3rd party software. Did you load anything lately? You should be able to connect to the device while it's rebooting (spinning hourglass) with application loader and remove the offending 3rd party application.

I would connect the device to a PC and update the OS using Desktop Manager. If you recently installed any application, I would uninstall it as this may cause this type of behavior.

reload handheld software might fix it...you can download from blackberry.com and follow the instructions there to install it on the phone. that doesn't work, it may need to be replaced.

Best and easiest way is to just re-flash the phone with the latest software. However this will cause all your data to be wiped clean from the phone. If you can not afford to loose your data, then connect it to Blackberry desktop with a usb cable and play around with the phone to see if you get luck and it connect to your computer. If so then make a backup before reflashing the phone

You can find the model by removing the battery and it should be on a sticker.

It is normal for Blackberry to load all its applications which takes few mins. However in your case the BB shuts off. I would suggest downloading the latest Device Firmware from www.Blackberry.com, and update your device with that firmware to your Device using the Desktop manager on your PC.

If not firmware then, check your device battery..

Try removing your Facebook app from the phone. Had the same issue and I stopped receiving emails. Once I removed the Facebook app from the phone - it rebooted and all my emails showed up.
