Trojan - antivirus-xp-pro-2009

Hi all,

Please help save my computer!!

My system is XP-SP3 - IE6 - athlon64

Have RegCure, SpyBot and AVG virus plus ZoneAlarm firedoor

This trojan landed on me on March 4 and after sweeping many times
with above software, it's still there, flashing "WARNING etc." on
desktop.

Have NOT saved or run their nice offer to prevent worse.

Please help to get rid of it permanently

This has interfered with my HP 1020 laser printer, where i uninstalled
its drivers, but then computer will not accept CD download to restore.

Also what is the best - proven - spyware and virus softaware now?
Lavasoft shows impressive comparisons and cleans the leftovers.
What is proven the best

many thanks to all helping

Take my notes as a guide and hopefully this will work for you.

1. Start > Run > msconfig > “Start Up” tab > Disable All
2. “Services” tab > Check box “Hide Microsoft Services” > Disable All
2.5 Exit out, but don't reboot yet
3. Start > Right-click “My Computer” > “Properties” > “System Restore” > Check box “Turn off restore on Hard disks”
4. Start > Run > type %temp% > Edit Select All > Shift-Delete
Reboot machine
1. Combofix.exe. This program will run on its own. Also, it will likely wish to reboot the machine. Let it complete.
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
2. WinSockFix.exe. This will fix any issues with the network connection.

3. SuperAntispyware.exe. This will remove all remaining spyware, tracking cookies, and browser hijackers.
Check to see that your favorite internet browser is working. Install or re-enable your favorite antivirus that failed to catch this in the first place.

HDD Reformatting

why not reinstall sp3 again for windows xp if it freezes then it might be looking for files that don't exist anymore. If the virus attatched itself to your files they may have been removed when you ran your virus software. you don't need to format to reload windows. Just simply do a clean reinstall on C drive.

Windows xp virus problem-windows will not boot up

XP Antivirus 2008 is one of the latest counterfeit antispyware that devastates the wolrd wide web. XP Antivirus 2008 usually come up after you installed a video codec that come with Trojan, malware and virus. XP Antivirus 2008 normally generates fake and misleading system popup error messages so end-users will be tricked into purchase XP Antivirus 2008.

This is one of the warnings from the net about this program.

a system restore with disks or a full reinstall may be in your future.... reboot and tap f8 and then boot to safe mode.... does that work ?

Please remove Antivirus 2009 As I have McAfee security thru Comcast for free !

Antivirus 2009 is a virus and the fastest way to remove it would be to format the system over. However, if your lucky enough to have it in your ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS list, then remove it before it really gets messy. I just finished trying to clean this one and ended up reformatting the system. Now, if you need to do that, and your a bit technically incline, backup your profile located under C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\%accountname%
de3bf73.jpg
In the pictured example, OWNER is the primary account. Copy this to an external as this holds all your settings and documents and pictures provided you saved everything as a default to MY DOCUMENTS.

McAfee can't remove this virus.

Trojan.zlob

First thing to do is to download and run a decent anti-virus and anti-spyware program. The best free ones at the moment are AVGfree and AVGAS which are available for download from; http://www.free.grisoft.com/ Download the 2 programs, install them, update them, and then run a full system scan - first with the anti-virus then with the anti-spyware program. Hopefully they will find and deal with your trojan. Please ask again if you need more info, the AVG programs are very clear and simple to use :)
