Pull the AC plug, remove battery. You may want to do a System clean-up. I assume you have Windows 7? Use two freeware programs to assist you. 1, CCLEANER: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This freeware program will clean the junk from your machine, in the TOOLS section, select STARTUP, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs, this will speedup starts, shutdowns and running. 2, MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version, run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Here are more tips to speedup Windows 7: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-ways-to-speed-up-windows-7/3332

Dishwasher malfunction

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Float Switch

The float switch may be hung up and this can cause the dishwasher to be stuck in a cycle. Check the tutorial and the video for checking this part.

Timer / Control

If your dishwasher gets stuck in a cycle first try shutting off the breaker for at least 5 minutes if this does not correct the problem you will need to replace timer/electronic control board.

My Lenovo Thinkpad T60 Won't load pass thinkpad Logo. I can't access Bios and ThinkVantage button is useless PLEASE HELP!

A burning smell is a good indication that some component burnt up. Could be a fan and that would cause it to shut down. If it's hung on the logo I would start by removing the memory, hard drive and optical drive and see if it boots past the logo. If it does then power down and add one item back in and test again until you find the bad part. Can you hear the fan spinning when you power it on?

T43 screen dims and laptop will not shut down

The screen will dim on battery power to save energy. The power settings, found when you right click the power icon in taskbar notification area and go to power options, can be changed to your personal preferences. The shut down issue may be what is running, I can't say what is running, but look at the Start up process in MSCONFIG and shut down what is not necessary at Start UP. Look at tutorials on Faster Start up and Shut down. There may be many items you can shut down/disable to speed up these events. QUESTION: Is this a upgrade to WIN 7 Ultimate, If so your computer me be a bit short on specs, in other words you have reached the computers hardware limits. How much RAM, CPU speed...etc.

Hallo, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 2847 and I get unexpected shutdown in a different intervals. It may be for example 10 minutes or 3 hours after the Windows starts. The system is ready to start...

It could be that the machine is overheating, if it's shutting down. Try ensuring that the vents are clear of obstruction, and that they are clean. If you can get to the cooling fan, then ensure that this is also clear. Don't use the laptop on your lap, as this tends to block the cooling vents as well.

It may also be worth checking to see if you get any error messages before it shuts down - in case it's something different (although I know that Windows 7 doesn't have an SP2 yet - so are you using Vista, or 7, SP1?)

I have an old IBM Thinkpad A31. When I power on, I get the IBM Thinkpad logo on screen, the fan turns on, but after about 15 seconds I get 2 beeps and it shuts down. I suspect that the hard drive is...

Hi,

2 short beeps actually refer to RAM. If you are comfortable re-seating the RAM to it's place, then do it. If you still have the same issue, then it's the motherboard.

A click on YES will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for choosing FixYa!

How do i shut down my think pad? it will not cut off

In your case,

the most simplest way to shut down your laptop is to override your processing by simply holding down the shutdown button until your computer turns off (do this when all your work is saved and the "Windows is shutting down" mode is on your screen).

This idea is not recommended but will always work.

Hope I helped
