How can I get the songs I sync to my mp3 to play in the order I choose and not group all the songs from the same artist together?

Depends on device and software. In general you can make playlists where you can select the sort order. Playlists are very flexible, at least on my iPhone and in iTunes. Another idea would be to copy all the song you want to sync into a new folder, then edit the detailed info for each song to set the track number for each song to be in the order you want. Possibly you can create a compilation out the songs but again, I think the compilation would need the songs track number to be in your prefered order.

Can't transfer songs from old ipod to new ipod

The following simple guidance is about transfer music from old iPod to new iPod with the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes:

  1. Plug the Old iPod into computer via the USB cable. Then launch iTunes.
  2. Click "File > Device > Transfer Purchases". iTunes will automatically transfer the songs to iTunes library.
  3. Plug the new iPod into computer. Then import the songs from iTunes to the new iPod.

I touch wont sync properly

Try just clicking and dragging the playlist onto the ipod which will get the songs on there for you. When you do sync, I do not think it transfers playlist automatically. You have to do it yourself.

How to download itunes to thumps

create a playlist in itunes then put the songs you want to add to your Oakleys in that playlist.  Then, burn that playlist to a cd.  after you burn it eject it then re-insert it and transfer the songs from the cd to your itunes...i typically just add them as a new playlist called for my Oakley.  once you do that you can drag those songs to your oakleys...all you are doing is changing the format from m4p which are basically songs you purchase via itunes that are protected for apple products; ipod, etc., to m4a format...you don't have to go thru all that if you didn't purchase the songs via itunes...hope this helps..

Sansa mp3 e260

Well, one way of fixing this can be to watch the files sync to your mp3 player and when it starts syncing the unwanted files, just simply press "stop sync". I think i know what you are using and i had the same problem at first. you will make a sync list and click sync but after that list if finished, it will sync the rest of the songs from your computer also, you can just wait for your wanted sync list to be finished and as soon as it begins to sync the unwanted media, just press stop. this wont harm your computer or your mp3 player.

Wont download all my songs!

check the options to see if the option to allow songs with digital media rights is enabled. This sometime prohibits the songs from being downloaded to the player if they were downloaded from itunes or rhapsody.

RIO ce2100

Try this and let me know if it works: Plug the player into the computer (by the USB cable obviously), open your Rio Music Manager, go to "Tools", "Synchronization options". Then create a "synchronization profile" as instructed. As you progress through the instructions, your second preferrence to edit is called "content deletion". This is where you can tell your player to NEVER delete your music. (Choose "never" from the dropdown menu). Then follow the rest of the steps, answering the other questions as you prefer. Hopefully this will prevent your player from losing songs you've already downloaded.
