I have a HP 650 notebook with win7. But i dont my fn keys isnt working. I have installed most drivers from hp site. Need help. Its not my laptop.

I suggest uninstalling SP3... do you have System Restore turned on? Google how to check...

If you do, try rolling back that way. Start>Run>restore <enter> and the restore window will appear. Choose the restore to an earlier time option, and hopefully a choice for 'SP3 installation' will be there. Choose that to roll back... good luck!

This is not related to any Registry keys or .ini file. Actually it's not a problem with your laptop or there's nothing wrong that have been done, but the Fn key is enabled, means the function key is enabled. If you don't want it to be operational, then you have to disable it. But since your keyboard doesn't have a numlock button, you have to do it from the Bios. There an option in the Bios called "Action Keys mode" under "System Configuration" Menu. I would direct you a link instead of giving you the instructions here since you'll need to refer the pictures. Click here and follow the instructions. You have to disable the "Action Keys mode" so that only F1 to F12 will work without Fn key.

If you wish to try another faster trick, give this a try.. Press and hold down both Fn+Alt and hit 0 1 6 2 (zero - one - six - two in sequence) on the keyboard.
