I have the exact same TV with the exact same problem. The issue is called diffusion and is not repairable. A Samsung repair tech can adjust the voltage settings but this will only work for a few weeks and cost a little more than $100. If you call Samsung they may be willing to issue you a new panel gratis (they did for me) but you will have to pay labor for the swap (about $400). If you do this the new panel will start to act up just like the old one so I would advise against it. Samsung will also claim that this is not a common problem which isn't true - especially for the 58" models which are seeing many extended warranty claims (which I didn't purchase).Best advice is to deal with it until you can't take it anymore and then buy a new TV but avoid Samsung in general and especially their plasmas. That is the route I am taking. And bashing Samsung for bilking me out of $400 6 months ago to replace a defective product with an equally defective one and then saying so sorry but you're now on your own.

SOURCE: white dots on sumsung plasma tv

This is a problem is usually on your Y sustain board. There are two adjustments for this in which an Oscilloscope is nessesary for the alignment. However, there are two other things that can cause this also. This is beyond your abilities if your not a tech. Sorry for the news, It's not a major repair but should be done by a qualified tech.

SOURCE: Samsung Plasma TV - picture has 6 sections of horizontal lines

All I can say is when you watch T.V. the plasmas run off of plasma gas and when you leave something on for so long it burns in the screen. I have the same T.V. and when watching like the weather channel it leaves lines but they go away. If yours are permanent then you can't do anything, but it may help if you go on your remote and go to "menu" then look for "setup" and scroll down with the arrows on your remote. Look for "screen burn protection" and select "white screen". This will make your whole screen white and it may take out the lines. If you let it sit white it won't hurt it. All one color won't hurt, the only thing that hurts is like bright white lines in front of a dark background. Just give your T.V. a break from time to time ESPECIALLY ON VIDEO GAMES. T.V. shows that are HD usually have their channel icons that move or are very dim and they won't hurt. Just go to what I told you and let it sit about 20 minutes, if that doesn't help, then the T.V. you have i believe comes with a 2-year standard warranty and if it's under warranty take it back if you have the reciept. If no reciept then call 1-800-SAMSUNG.

No, a cracked screen, whatever the type, size or model of tv is terminal, unfixable. In a case of a plasma it's even worse - the crack allows the gases to escape which causes the voltages on the panel to spike, frying the Sustain boards.
The tv's are dead, good for parts at the best - a new panel would cost as much as a new tv, plus the shipping.
