No suround when watching tv with sky + box,

Mate does your sky box have a volume control as well as your television, I have a sky box(fox-tel)with volume control as well as the television volume control.... I have the television volume up full and control the volume through my sky box(fox-tel).... Hope this helps... CHEERS...

Not sure about about the transmitter but the magic eye thing is possible however you wouldn't be able to change channel unless your pointing your remote at your box because a sky box has power going through the magic eye but a virgin box doesn't

is the tv or virgin box or sky box on mute at all

you will need an optical cable to go from your set top box ie Sky or Virgin box to your surround sound box

The sony manual tells you how to connect to a TV however most of us now watch TV connected to a SKY box. The Scart lead needs to be connected to the Sky box for the sound to work correctly. Ignore the Manual and connect the Scart lead from the DVD Unit directly into you're sky box. It works fine.

look at the back of your tv does it have a audio out RCA jack?
it should do plug in the surround sound into that using RCA cables

if your tv does not have audio out RCA jack then you can

get a adapter which makes scart connectors turn into RCA jacks get that off ebay

plug the yellow line to the tv and connect the red and white to suround sound
but with this there are a few problems sound will only come out when surround sound is turned on and skys sound will never play out the tv
if you switch to a PS3 or something it will not play suround sound

yuo best option is the RCA plugs in the back of the tv

because you have not written the model number of the tv or the suround sound i cant help any further

Hello.. How do you have your audio from your cable box into the LG? I am asking because I want to use the Optical input so I can use this system for suround sound off my DirectTV DVR, What input do I need to set the LG to to make this work?
