A universal remote can work with your TV, but whether it can access the menu depends on the specific model of both the TV and the universal remote. Universal remotes are designed to be compatible with a wide range of devices, including TVs, DVD players, audio systems, and more. However, not all universal remotes have the same features or compatibility with every function of a specific TV.
Here are the general steps to set up a universal remote with your TV and access the menu:
Check Compatibility:
Ensure that your universal remote is compatible with your TV model. The packaging or user manual of the universal remote should list compatible brands and models.
Find the TV Code:
Locate the code for your specific TV model in the documentation that came with the universal remote. The manual should include a list of codes for various TV brands.
Program the Universal Remote:
Follow the instructions in the universal remote's manual to program it for your TV. This usually involves entering a code that corresponds to your TV model.
Testing:
After programming, test the basic functions like power, volume, and channel to ensure that the universal remote is working with your TV.
Accessing the Menu:
Most universal remotes have a dedicated "Menu" button or a button labeled with a similar term. Press this button to access the menu on your TV.
If there isn't a specific "Menu" button, look for a button with an icon that resembles a list, settings, or options. Sometimes, these buttons serve the same purpose.
If you're unable to find a dedicated button, refer to the universal remote's manual for guidance on accessing the menu or adjusting settings.
Navigating the Menu:
Once you've accessed the menu, use the arrow buttons or navigation buttons on the remote to move through the menu options.
Some universal remotes may have an "OK" or "Enter" button that you can press to select a menu option.
We used a One4All model URC3021BOO remote.
We programmed BOTH the TV function and the DVD/vcr button with code 0807.
To access the menu PRESS TV then MENU button then DVD/VCR button will allow you to change menu functions using left and right and select buttons.
*TV button will access Menu screen BUT NO menu functions.
* DVD/VCR button will NOT access menu screen but WILL control menu functions if menu is already displayed.

If you do not have a remote for your Toshiba TV, there are a few ways you can access the menu to change settings or perform other functions:
Use the buttons on the TV: Some Toshiba TVs have buttons on the side or back of the TV that can be used to access the menu or perform other functions. Check the TV's manual or the label on the back of the TV to see if this is the case for your TV and which buttons to use.
Use a universal remote: You can purchase a universal remote that is compatible with your Toshiba TV. These remotes can be programmed to control your TV, and can be used to access the menu and other functions.
Connect a keyboard or mouse to the TV: If your TV has a USB port, you can connect a keyboard or mouse to the TV and use it to navigate the menu and other functions.
Use a mobile app: Some Toshiba TVs can be controlled using a mobile app that can be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet. This app allows you to control your TV and access the menu without needing a remote.
If you are trying to set up WiFi on your TV using a Magnavox universal remote control, you may need to use the remote's navigation buttons to access the TV's settings menu. These buttons are typically labeled "Up," "Down," "Left," and "Right," and they are used to navigate through the TV's on-screen menus. To use them, follow these steps:
Press the "Menu" or "Settings" button on the remote to access the TV's settings menu.
Use the "Up," "Down," "Left," and "Right" buttons to navigate through the menu options.
Select the "Network" or "WiFi" option and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your WiFi connection.
If you are unable to access the TV's settings menu using the remote's navigation buttons, you may need to refer to the user manual for your TV or universal remote for more detailed instructions. Alternatively, you may need to contact Magnavox or the manufacturer of your TV for assistance.
Yes, a universal remote control should work on this TV since all remote controls utilizes infrared sensing technology. However, not all functionalities and features of your TV can be accessed using a universal remote control, thus only the basics like volume and channel controls but some advance features like menu setup might not work.
You could try purchasing a universal remote. Many of them can access even the most specific functions, although it might be labeled differently on the remote (so if you don't see it on the remote, just play around and it might really be there. I've had my input control for a TV actually turn out to be the TV/VCR button on my universal remote). Make sure it's a universal remote with DVD controls, otherwise it might not have that function at all.
Other than that, there's nothing else I can think of, since most DVD players don't have any menu button(s) on the unit itself.
Most universal or multi-brand remotes will control a TV's basic functions, but almost none will support advanced functions like menus. If the TV doesn't have a front panel menu button, the best solution is to buy a universal remote of the same brand as the TV. If you get a Zenith universal remote, it should have a menu button that will work with the TV.
on some models the menu button is on the front disguised as the volume up/down or channel up/down buttons. you have to push both up/down buttons on either one of these to bring up the menu.
Looks like you are in trouble mate.you may have to buy origional remote.there are certain programmable remotes out there which give every function of the origional.most service centers have them, they have to be programmed by computer to suit each individual set.
