Loose audio when dell laptop is rebooted or shutdown

Hi,
Dell not given facility to reboot. But command through you can reboot . To access the command prompt window from Vista or Windows 7:

1. Go to the Start menu
2. Type cmd in the Search field
3. Press Enter

On a Windows XP computer:

1. Click the Start menu
2. Choose Run
3. Type cmd
4. Press Enter

From an open command prompt window, you can type shutdown, and then the option you wish to execute.
To shut down your computer type: shutdown /s
To restart your computer type: shutdown /r
To log off your computer type: shutdown /l

press down window key with and two time press "U" key.

just shutdown/restart as normal do when closing the PC down say at the end of the night fro start -> shutdown

Well, you can go to shutdown and then choose reboot in Windows....But to force a reboot, hold down the laptops power button for a few seconds until the system shuts down. After it has gone black for about 20 more seconds press that power button and the system will boot. Good luck!

Random shutdowns can be hardware or software related. General advice is as follows:
Go to support.dell.com and download the latest BIOS Flash, Video Driver and audio driver for your system and install them, once installed and rebooted see if the issue is resolved.
If not, start, run MSCONFIG, edit the entries in the startup group disabling all except antivirus entries, reboot and see if any change.
If issue no longer occurs, then you can add items back one at a time until you isolate items that cause the issue.
If the software editing has had no effect, try ram modules individually (System will operate on one) and see if issue is isolated to one module or slot.

You reboot the computer manually by holding down the power button on your laptop.

remove the laptop (large battery) then: remove the bios battery (small) from the motherboard wait ten minutes pluf in the laptop reboot then shutdown and reinsert the laptop battery. your code will be erased

You might find it difficult to get hold of windows XP keys since Microsoft stopped selling it.
If you get on google and search for something called TinyXP (rev09). I think that this willl solve your problem.

Go to Control Panel - Display - Settings - Advance - Monitor, set it to Default monitor and click OK.
Does the display now fill the screen?
If this doesn't work, go to the DELL WEB site and see if there a driver for the display. To ensure you get the correct driver for your model laptop, use the Service Tag number (which is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop) to the download page for your model laptop, download the correct Windows XP or Vista version of the driver from :-
www.dell.com

hi, i have something strange found in my inspiron 6000:
it looses SMD-parts in the dc-power-converter!
...strange isn't it?
maybe are the suddenly shutdowns the beginning of this ****!
you need someone who knows good soldering....

...and maybe someone can tell me which kind of parts the mine d6000 has loosen :oD ?
it came back from dell *without*...!!!

...please can someone post me a foto?...
