Re: why doesn't my pc recognize previously downloaded...
Google Picasa3 and download the free software. It does recognize previously downloaded pics and does lots of other really fun things too. You'll love it.

I have experienced this issue at different times and how i have over come this issue was to reboot my laptop and then re-plug my iphone back in via usb to the laptop and i found the windows software was able to detect the new pics .
I think this may be because of a software clinch ram or cache issue not refreshing the page so it doesn't pick up the new pics only the previous ones in the memory.
Most DVD drives are also CD drives, and it sounds like the DVD part is broken, you need to replace the DVD drive, this is done simply by buying a new one, I recommend Newegg.com ( if your unsure search exactly what you already have) then opening your case (tower) and just unplugging old one and plugging new one in, it really is very doable for even a novice.
i think your memory of ur camera is already virux because his not read the computer ! i think go to the tech or other friendx to know how to remove the virux of your memory of your camera :D i hope atleast i can i help u ! :D
Blinking light means your computer still in process reading your data from memory card. Higher capacity of memory card would make the computer need longer time to read it. Just be patient and don't unplug the USB cable. If you think its too long, then you can unplug the cable data, put off the memory card and open in via card reader so you can download your pictures to PC.
Insert the memory card in a computer that accepts that type of card (card slot) and see if this other computer can recognize the format. If so, download those files to that computer.
If you put a card into a computer and then remove it without using the "safely remove hardware" function, or you use the computer to change something on the card, your camera will no longer recognize it. You need to download the pics from the cards and then, format them in the camera.
If your previous download is still on the computer, then it is correct when it tells you there are no new pics to download. If that's the case, why would you want to download them again?
UNINSTALL the Kodak program. Reboot your pc. Connect the camera to the pc and let the pc recognize the camera and follow the wizard to download the pics.
You can only sync one ipod with one computer so if you put music on it already it will only work with the original computer you synced it with. Same with ANY ipod.
