The turntable, oven light and fan suddenly stopped working. All other functions are just fine - microwave heats food, exhaust fan works, cook-top lights are OK . any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

there could be two problems with your microwave. your diode could be bad or your magnetron is no good. Its definitely one of the 2. most likely the magnetron. if the microwave is more than 5 years old, and it is the magnetron i would suggest that you replace the microwave. if you would like instructions on how to change the magnetron or diode let me know and i'll walk you thru it. although i do recommend u let a professional take a look at it.

What you said about the the clock leads me to suggest that you first unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in. It may just need a good reset. If you don't have your owner's manual you can download one here: http://www.lge.com/support/manual.jsp The mention of odor concerns me. It may just be a bit of food or grease on the waveguide cover, which is a small sheet or panel on the wall or ceiling of the cooking cavity, but it may indicate the failure of a part in the high voltage section. You may have an intermittent door switch. You can see some of my other responses for info on how to get our important text file that helps you diagnose and repair door switches and gives important safety tips.

The problem is that the magnatron is not getting power. Chance is that if could be a bolwn fuse inside the unit. If the fuse don't fix it then that leaves the charging diode, capacitor or the magnatron, or high voltage xformer of which without technical epertize I would not recomend attempting to replace. good luck

this is something you should probably call a repair technician for, due to the danger of the componentry.
Usually in ther case of this problem, even a technician will advise you to replace the unit, in the minds of cost effectiveness and safety...
