You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

How do I turn the red light off from flashing on the hand set

The red light flashing on your handset could indicate that the phone is in an alert state, or that there is an incoming call or message. To turn off the red light flashing on the handset, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check the display: Make sure that the phone is not in silent or vibrate mode, and that the ringer volume is turned up.
  2. Check for missed calls or messages: See if you have any missed calls or messages that could be causing the red light to flash.
  3. Check for other alerts: See if there are any other alerts, such as low battery or signal strength, that could be causing the red light to flash.
  4. Check for software updates: Make sure that your phone is running the latest software update. Sometimes, software updates can fix bugs that cause issues like this.
  5. Check the settings: Go to the settings of your phone and check the display settings, make sure the red light is turned off.
  6. Check with the phone's manufacturer: If the problem persists, you may want to contact the phone's manufacturer for further assistance or check if the device is still under warranty.

Red message light flashing

The term we used for this back when I worked for the phone company was a "stuck message waiting indicator" and the way to fix it was:

Call yourself and leave a message.
Hang up and wait 2 minutes (we used to say 5 minutes, but 2 is plenty)
Retreive/delete your voice mail message
Hang up and wait 2 minutes

That should clear the blinking light.
