Microsoft Wireless Entertainment 8000 Keyboard Logo
Posted on Mar 04, 2009

I have a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 8000 and Mouse. Keyboard problem: the keyboard freezes - sometimes (often) when I press the CTRL key, but not always. Mouse problem: this is a bluetooth mouse and it is jerky and slow to respond. Anyone got any ideas? I have given up using the bluetooth mouse as it is so bad (well, it is also so HUGE) - but the keyboard is the REAL problem as I have to reboot the PC to get things working again. Thanks

My MS dontle gave me nothing but problems, now I have two Belkin Bluetooth dongles, one covers a 10 metre range and is for a USB 1.1 connection, the latest one a 100 metre range USB 2 one.
The first one worked fine but thinking that my machine only has USB 2 sockets I installed the new 100 metre range one thinking it would be much better, but it wasn't it froze and had jerky movements so I came to the conclusion that it was picking up interference from someone mobile or computer.
So I ended up going back to the first one and it works great.
Try a friends Bluetooth dongle and see if it works better than the one you got with your keyboard, it might cure your problem as mine did.
You can get them for pennies on eBay.

Hopping the details can give a little help for you:
1.Restart your computer. When a computer freezesyou must restart it in order to diagnose the problem. Because the freezingproblem renders all programs and utilities inoperable, restarting your computeris the only way to fix and diagnose the problem.
2.Install a free anti-virus program. The most common problemthat causes computers to freeze up periodically is the presence of a computervirus. Download a free anti-virus program like Avast! or AVG to scan yourcomputer for viruses and get rid of the threat. See the Resource section forinformation and download links.Check more about the bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
3.Defragmentyour hard drive. This process manages your files and takes files that may havebeen displaced and puts them back where they are supposed to be. Go to theSystem Tools section of your computer under the "accessories" tab andthen select the defragmentation tool. When it launches, simply click"defragment" to begin the process. Defragmentation can take severalhours if your computer has not been defragmented in awhile.4.Runa disk cleanup. This process gets rid of all your temporary and cache files. Itcan also free up virtual memory, which if clogged, can be a source of frequentfreezing issues. Find the disk cleanup application in the "SystemTools" section of your computer. Run it by selecting your hard drive andthen waiting for it to analyze files that it will delete. Then press the"cleanup" button. This process can take anywhere from half an hour toseveral hours depending on how much there is to cleanup on your hard drive.5.Re-formatyour hard drive. This step should only be taken in extreme situations. If thecomputer is still freezing after all of the above steps have been taken, youmay have persistent malware on your computer, which can only be removed byformatting your hard drive. This process will effectively erase all your files, including documents, multimedia and programs.I have a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard - 8_2_2012_8_11_36_am.jpg

Microsoft wireless ENTERTAINMENT keyboard 7000 manual. At the top right-side of the board you will find a mouse. Button "OK" not working. What can be done

For the extra buttons to work you will need to install the software that came with the keyboard. If none was provided the instructions will usually tell you a website to get them from.
Here is a link to microsofts site containing downloads for this product.
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/wireless-entertainment-keyboard-7000

After the proper drivers / software is installed, the extra function keys should work. If not the keyboard may be defective, or issues beyond the scope of this question may exist such as virus or other interference.

Hi I bought Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 Keyboard Mouse and Microsoft Notebook receiver v2.0 but the problem that this receiver is not for this keyboard and mouse. where i can buy receiver...

Hello, Welcome to fixya.com

Sorry to hear that your do not have a matching receiver for this set.
The type of transmitter in this set is not compatible with just any actually its programed just for that keyboard mouse combo, However have you tried ebay.com?

See the transmitter in this unit is not like any remote control type of thing so what your thinking of will not work. You could call microsoft with a part number of ther set and see if they could get you a replacement but there is no gaurentee's.

Thanks,

Ms 8000 mouse pairing code

You choose your own code. It's a keyboard right? So it has numbers on it...and an Enter key.
1. Press and hold in the small button next to Bluetooth symbol under the keyboard for 5 seconds. The charge indicator lights at the top of the keyboard should alternate flashing red then green.
2. Search for Bluetooth devices on the devices you wish to connect the keyboard to. The Keyboard should be listed there.
3. Enter a code of your choice into the device you are paring the keyboard to and submit it. I used a 4 digit number which worked without a problem.
4. Type the same code and press Enter on the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 Keyboard.
The keyboard should now be paired with your device.
Good luck, - GregAndo
