SOURCE: "Synchronize to continue your subscription"

To get rid of that message, you need to connect your Sansa to your computer and open the Rhapsody software to "deauthorize" your Sansa (assuming that you're not going to be using the Rhapsody service). The following URL gives you two options on how to deauthorize your device (look at the bottom section of the page): http://home.real.com/product/help/chandler/en/instruction/auth_deauth_pd-textonly.htm

SOURCE: Can't copy files to and from Windows Media Player

If the music service subscription that you originally used to transfer these files has expired, then you will get this error message.

Also, you have to fully resynchronize to the original computer yo connected the player to every 30 days.

SOURCE: error on downloading audio books

The new Sansa c200 series devices come with some songs on them from the factory and apparently they are in a special format.
All I had to do was fomat the device using its Settings Menu choice.
It wiped everything off the device, but then I was able to sync any song over to it using my Yahoo Music Jukebox software.

SOURCE: Loading audio books onto sansa fuse clip 2gb mp3 player

You need to tag the .mp3 so it has a genre of "Audiobook". Google "mp3 tagger" and you'll find utils to do this for you.

Cannot transfer a mps file to sansa clip error message you do not have permission to create this file

The file is probably DRM-protected. It is possible to remove the protection using a software program.

Have a look at this link for more info:

Trying to transfer downloaded book from library

It depends what format you downloaded the book and from whom. There are tons of readers ect. Also wma means it must be an audio book. For example mobipocket will let you download books but you need the mobipocket reader to view the books. Others you can't transfer because of copyright ect.

Hi.
I report a solution from Portable player FAQ, let me know if it works:
1. Delete the title in the Overdrive Media Console program.
2. Then log into the Audiobook site at http://e.hbpl.org and click on My Account, My eItems Checked Out, and click the Download button the website to re-download the book.
3. Transfer the newly downloaded parts to your player.

Transfer error 0X8004C01A--Just started--What to do?

Some audiobook services have fixed-term licenses of 1-year - at the end of the time period, you have to resynchronize the audiobook files to the audiobook service itself.

Here is an interesting clip from the Sandisk forums on this exact issue:
"
Overdrive library books have DRM-encryption to make them stop working at the end of the loan-out period unless you renew them. This means your player must be set to MTP mode.

If your player intentionally or un-intentionally got switched to MSC mode, that would prevent the DRM content from being loaded onto your player and account for the error message.

Check it in SETTINGS > USB MODE on your player."

Just in the last month this problem surfaced. I download audio books from my library. I have been doing this for the past year. My MP3 player says synchronize to continue your subscription. My library is...

I had this issue with my e260 and Overdrive Media audiobooks. Here is how I solved the problem:

NOTE: Make sure that your license is valid -or the following will make no difference.

1. Windows Media Player needs to be at least 10 -and it needs a security update to be able to deal with DRM files.
2. The audiobook needs to be opened (played) (even just for 1 sec.) on the computer first to "activate" the license.
3. When transferring from Overdrive Media the Sansa HAS to be set to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) in the USB settings for the license to transfer to the device allowing it to play.

I hope this helps someone. It took me an entire day of research and trial & error to figure it out.

Using Overdrive Media Console to transfer audio books I had downloaded from the public library to my Sansa 200 I get an error message 0XC00D2772. Everything had worked fine for 3 months prior to this...

FiXED!
Had the same problem
I fixed it on my e260. The solution: Drag and drop the mp3 file directly into your media player, skip the overdrive 'wizzard', you need to find the folder where the media is stored.
