Hello! I'm happy to find your site. My Minolta Maxxum 7000 35mm SLR Camera is not working. I didnot use it for nearly for2 years as I've been doing lot of Video shooting of late. recently I had to take take stills and opened my Minolta Maxxum 7000 35mm SLR Camera and inserted 4 Duracell AA battaries as I've been doing before but to to my surprise I saw smoke coming out of the Camera and immidiately I removed the battaries and saved further damage. Now I've no solution for this. If you can suggest an otherised center to repair this problem in India i'll be very much tankful. thank You once again P.S.R.Murthy.
Dear Minolta friends,
I have recently bought a second hand Maxxum 7000 and a AF lens, but found the body not ocntrolling the aperture while shooting. I know 7000 has someting special. Is my problem is due to lens and body compatibility or actually the malfunction of the body. I am sure the AF lens is ok since i have tried it working with another minolta af body.
Can give me an advice?

I have exactly the same problem..for two years digital and when I need still I have exactly same problem ..changed the batteries and no result..that' s all
I have the same problem. Since then the camera doesn't work any more. The smoke coming out of the body is a sign of an overheated electronic part, maybe a resistor. But where? Does anybody know what part is damaged and has to be changed?
Found a relative's Minolta Maxxum 7000 that had been sitting around for several years and I put batteries in to discover that it was getting hot immediately and the battery life was under 10 minutes... for four AAA batteries. Just want to find any method or replaceable part to fix this. Thanks.
Camera sat for a few years. Installed new battery (tested @ 6.2V) and flashes low battery, wont power on. Cleaned battery contacts, no change. Any suggestions?
