Pilot light on Dyna Glo gas heater won't stay lit

When I light the heater...it will stay lit anywhere from 10 seconds to 24 hours. While the pilot light is lit...it appears strong...doesn't flicker. Then all of the sudden the flame will go out. The heater is about 6 years old, and has worked perfectly up until this year. I've tried to make sure any air has been bled out of the line, but it appears that maybe air is still getting in there.

Same problem! Cleaned pilot light area with an air compressor. Problem is still there. Any thoughts? Or sources for a new pilot light assembly?

Heater pilot light will not stay lit after knob is released

99% of the time it is just dirt and dust in the pilot light. NOT a bad thermocouple! These units generate their own power through the pilot light and it has to burn perfectly. Turn off gas supply, remove the cover and the pilot light assembly, including disconnecting the tiny gas line from the gas valve. Blow compressed air in, around and through it to get dust out. Replace everything, use soap bubbles at gas fittings to leak test and light the pilot. I bet it stays lit.

Heater goes out after 10 to 30 seconds.

sounds like a blocked pilot when you turn on the main gas takes the gas away from the pilot and goes out
