I think my Powershot deleted my photos to make room for videos!
After I downloaded everything, I noticed there were a LOT of videos. Then I realized most of my still photos were missing. Should I buy a recovery program? Help!
Re: I think my Powershot deleted my photos to make room...
You may find your still pics were downloaded to a different folder than your videos, on you PC. Do a Start/Search Files and Folders and begin to enter first chars of pic file number.

You need to "play/view" the stored pictures and i think by clicking the "Menu" will show you the "Delete/Erase one/all"
Personally ill recommend an external CF reader and simply transfer all photos on any PC, then save them on a Flash Stick, GoogleDrive or a CD/DVD

First, don't use the card again until you recover! Piriform's Recuva is a free photo recovery program that will allow you to recover images and data from your cards and devices. They're the same people that make CCleaner and are pretty reputable. I don't endorse them here, I've just successfully used their software in the past. Recuva Undelete Unerase File and Disk Recovery Free Download
To delete an individual photo, while playing back the photo press the trashcan button located just above the control dial. To delete all photos on a memory card, format the card by using the Format command in the Setup menu.
If you need a manual you may download a copy here.
Yes this can. Very easily also. See this link. Just remember when recovering to save your recovered photos onto your hard drive, and not back onto your memory card as that may overwrite lost photos prior to recovery.
In this case you may try some photo recovery software to recover these pictures, here are some programs you may rely on. Both programs can also recover videos and music. Photo Recovery Software (for Windows) Mac Photo Recovery Software (for Mac OS X)
Note: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the camera memory card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.
Hi, there. Don't worry. I recommend you to use this camera recovery software called asoftech data recovery; it can help you recover your lost photos and video files from your flip camera (or Memory Card):
You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.
Hi there and welcome to FixYa.
First a couple of questions.
1) Can you play the videos in your computer?
2) Are there any of those "video" files that you know were pictures?
