HP F335 deskjet. Blinking orange lights. When I turn off, and then restart, the ink carriage bangs on the left side a few times, but will not do anything more. I have tried opening the front panel again, but the carraige will not stop in the center. It only bangs around again on the left side

Try changing the color cartridge. Also it is a good idea to clean the electrical contacts if it looks dirty.Use slightly damp(use water only) q-tips .
Hope this helps

SOURCE: hp deskjet 842c blinking ink cartridge light

You have to take off the clear strip of plastic over the copper area, or the printer will not detect it. There should be a green pull-tab on the cartridge.

Same thing happened to me and I took it back to the store, where I bought it from. They replaced it with a new one and told me that it didn't have any software installed, like if you have a motherboard without bios ..

SOURCE: HP Deskjet 5740 printer both orange lights are blinking and wont print

  • I replaced both carts with HP brand, no joy.
  • I cleaned the cart/printer connections, no joy.
An interesting aside is that if one or the other cart is removed, the appropriate LED goes out and the other blinks. At least some of the sensing circuitry sees the cart.

Anyone have a schematic of the cart/printer electronics?

Hi, I'm Cecily, and my printer isnt working at all. It says "E" beside the third button down, and an orange light won't stop blinking. I dont know what to do!

It has an Error "E" that's why its blinking orange, Turn it off, check if there's any paper jam inside it, make sure that it has ink and not used up after checking for paper jams and Ink level, remove all paper, make sure nothing is stuck inside it, reseat paper back, make sure ink catridges are reated as they should, close it, then plug it in and turn it on and verify if you still have "E" or blinking.

The BANNER lever needs adjusting.

Solution

1. Turn the printer off.

2. Move the BANNER lever (next to the paper tray) up and down a few times.

3. Turn the printer on.

If these solutions did not fix the problem, have the printer serviced.

the moving ink frame is probably pointing to a symbol such as replace color ink( three dots on ink cartridge picture). Replace color ink. You are probably printing your black and white documents with colored ink--always select black or greyscale.

HP DeskJet 812C Hardware Problem! with Printer cartridge carriage. Printer Cartridge retracted into right side of case will not come out. There is No paper jam in machine to prevent it from doing so. ...

Disconnect the "data" cable (parallel or USB).
Disconnect the "power" cable.
Reconnect the "power" cable.
Turn the printer on.
Lift the printer's lid -- the print-carriage should slide the printer-heads to the "middle" position.

If all else fails, take the printer to a qualified technician, for more trouble-shooting.

HP Deskjet 950C I have a flashing orange light

I think I may have another solution. I remember some time ago going to HP to get an update for my 950c printer. I think I read something that said, "If you do not really need to download this update, don't do it." I downloaded it anyway. I think then I begin to get notices saying when my ink was getting low, usually long before it actually did. I am thinking also, the same software that gave me those readings, also may have read the color cartridge (and possibly also black) may have caused the printer to turn on the blinking resume (orange light). I then deleted the updated software and reinstalled the original software that came with my computer or old application for the printer. I restarted my computer and tried it again. The blinking light did come on at first; then I realized I had not set the printing format to black only. I also disconnected my printer both and module and power for about five minutes. Still not sure since I just did this, but the orange light is not coming on and the printer prints. LOL, I am low on black ink though.

Hp deskjet 5652 not printing, orange light flashing continuously

1. Check to insure the cover is shut down completely.

2. If the "Ink Drop" Icon is blinking you are either out of ink, or there is a problem with the cartridge carrier. So open the cover - the carriage should move to the middle, if not it is bound up somewhere. Check the guides and around the carriage area for gummy labels etc..

3. If the carriage moves to the middle, release the ink cartridges and replace.

4. If the "Arrow" Icon is blinking, this could be a result of a paper feed error. Remove the paper from the tray, open the cover and insure no jams are in the rollers. Shuffle the paper lightly and place back in tray. Check to make sure the tray is pushed completely forward and then press the "Arrow" Icon button until a sheet is fed into the printer.

* * Note: When you are replacing the Ink cartridges and before you remove the tape from the bottom heads, give them a shake to lossen up the ink before installing.

This link will take route you to HP's support and more troubleshooting techniques for your printer.
