SOURCE: I have a 1994 150 hp Yamaha outboard motor with

Stop! Dont replace the pump...I would bet that it is the "down" Solenoid that went haywire. I would begin by replacing the Down solenoid...it is a far easier and cheaper fix and if your pump works to raise the engine then that tells me that it is not faulty. The Down solenoid looks just like a starter solenoid and the one that you are looking to replace has a GREEN wire to it. Yellow with a red stripe is for the starter. Blue wire is the up solenoid. So replace the one with the green wire going to it and I bet it will fix your problem.

SOURCE: i have a 1978 70 hp johnson with the spark plugs

Hi, with your spark plugs in you are turning the engine over against compression, thats why its harder to turn. The binding noise could be your piston rings, buts its difficult to say without further information. Sorry

Any fuel filters? If the fuel line is old I would replace it due to the ethanol in gas. If not that then clean the carburater, high speed jet may be clogged.

Tilt trim go up wont go down 2003 johnson 140 hp 4 stroke

You may want to check service bulletin #2002-052. Some of these motors supply too much voltage to the trim switch at the throttle lever and that trim switch stops working. There is an add-on harness #586806 that fixes this. If you can still tilt and trim the motor at the trim switch that is built into the motor housing this is likely the problem.

The trim/tilt on my 97 Johnson 150 outboard is not moving. Tilt motor runs. Some time ago my mechanic told me not to run the tilt all the way to the top, which is, I think, what happened. Any ideas on...

Make sure there is not a spring loaded locking lift latch engauged. If there is you will see a little movement and then the motor will sound slower. If there is no movement and the motor runs the same speed with no change you are low on hydraulic tilt and trim fluid.

Please take a moment and rate my answer............ Thanks

Where do i put in hydraulic fluid in a johnson 225 boat motor

if its an outboard you will see a reservoir near the cylinder on back, be careful and set the shallow drive lever so the weight is off the hydros when you open it, there can be up to 3000psi if it has weight/pressure on it

once added you have to blead air bubbles, go up then down at least 10 times

also a boat parts store(phone book) may be able to help you
