The Screen to my Toshiba theaterview tv is distorted that is the cause of this

Look at it on the QVC channel where you have boxes with straight lines. If any of the 3 colors are bowed and 1 inch off, then it needs parts inside. If the colors are straight and only 1/4 inch off, you can adjust it. Using the remote, in the menus find convergence to adjust. Your user manual will explain it. yes its on your remote. its the c.capt button. or go under menu/enter and pan to the left untill it comes up. and turn it off by scrolling through the caption buttons

sound like to me caption 1 is turn on .. try going into settings menu and shutting off close caption...

After doing some searching what I have come up with is that your options are limited to contacting the manufacturer for a replacement screen or going the ebay route which looking there does not seem to have any possibility at the moment. You can also check with a tv repair shop preferably a mom and pop type joint, many of these places will have spare parts laying around.

1.) It sounds like you have a convergence problem; in the customer menu with the original Toshiba remote select convergence--if blue or red will NOT move in some direction you have a bad convergence IC.

2.) This set uses 2 STK-392-110 convergence chips; they and any open resistors around them need to be replaced and the set adjusted.

3.) If you are able to do this repair yourself you can save a lot of money--Most TV shops will charge 300-400 for this type of repair on this set.

4.) If you cannot do the repair yourself look in your area--now is the slow time of year for TV repair shops---if they say it "has to go to shop" keep looking----almost any good tech can do this repair in your home in about an hour--I have done hundreds of them here and charge 200-250 total depending on brand and model.
