If you haven't checked to make sure your computer is free of malware, sometimes it can slow down your internet downloads. Here are a few programs I'd suggest you install and run:

• ESET Online Scanner (scans from the web, will take a while)
• SuperAntiSpyware (download and install)

Try closing all the open apps. Double click on the home button and long press (press for about 3 or 4 seconds) an app on the bottom tray. try to connect the phone to pc using a cable, that should make the speed abit faster but generally, connecting internet from phone to pc makes the connection slow
