U2 error code on xerox 5020 . how to fix it?

That error signifies a carriage fault with the ccd scanner under the platen glass. Check connections of flexible cable and verify that the carriage moves left to right upon start up. If connections are okay you either have a defective IIT Carriage or IIT Carriage Sensor.

There are two options because there are two different machine.
One WC5020 with platen or adf and another machine with dadf.
N9 error code has nothing to do with the fuser. You must look for the entire error code n9.xx.

U2-1 Carriage Module Fail

i have one xerox 5020 machine, there is display showing C1 error code in first tray and C3 error code in bypass tray .if open and close the machine will be idle and ready to cpoy. there is no paper pick up in both trays. please help to resolve the problem.

Enter into the diagnostic mode.Press 50 then green button,press 20 then green button,press 00 then green button.Switch off the machine & Switch On.

@basanta711, Press 0 for 5 seconds then press green (start) then 50, green, 20 green, 0, green then on/Off the printer........... problem is solved

U2 = Memory failure.

Clear U2 error
Enter diagnostic mode

To enter diagnostics:

1. Power on
2. Press 'Clear' > 'Exposure' > 'Clear' > 'Exposure' buttons within 4 seconds.
3. All the lamps on the control panel will go out.
4. Enter the service mode using the 1 button.
   

Enter code 16
Press Start button
Exit diagnostics, by switching machine off.

If the error returns, you will need to replace the main board.
