How do i update maps on my mio spirit 689 deluxe

From what I I know the old Mios cannot update maps as they changed map software.

should power up all the time

sales pitch doesn't mention a short life battery
can t find a user manual for that one

unplug it after a while if it wont function then it may not have a battery feature

Unfortunately, the best and easiest way to update your maps would be to purchase the upgrade through mio. If you are looking for an illegal/pirated version of the update, you will have to do some heavy searching to find one. I quickly searched some potential sites for the australia maps, but I could not find what you are looking for. Unfortunately, mio is not the most popular GPS brand and free mio map updates are much more difficult to find than Garmin or TomTom map updates. My recommendation would be to pay for the legitimate software, or buy a Garmin or other GPS if you can find a good deal. Here is a new Garmin GPS you can get for 69.99 with free shipping:

If you want to unlock maps, you need to buy a key or update here:

To reload the software:
1. Connect your device to the computer 2. Make a backup of your addresses and favorites if you wish 3. In File Explorer, right click on the device (removable drive) >> Format 4. Start the Desktop 5. Go to My Mio >> Reinstall the software 6. Go to My Mio >> Recover Keys 7. You can now reinstall the maps from the Maps tab. If you downloaded a map update, make sure to use the downloaded file. 8. Go to My Mio / Voice Transfer and re-install the voice files

from mio online or from mio distributors - harvey norman etc. Your software will be updated to miomap2008 also (which is the same as the navman software).

go to the manufactures website..ther will/should be a link to software/map upgrades and updates. Most have a search bar on the main page that you can type in.... map updates for xxxx model (xxx being your units model number)

I hate these things but they do sync with microsoft. I was unable to find a proper driver too but did find out that MS SYNC

go to Mio Support and see if the C210 can even accept US maps. ALso, check ebay for cd with map restore or "Transmit Map' to blank 2 GB sd card.
