DSL D80 with r02 readout: I get the r02 readout as I depress the shutter. Sometimes I get the shot, even sequential shots, but other times there is no response when I fully depress the shutter. I fidget and fuss and then maybe it works again. And then not. Maybe. But always I get the r02 readout when I slightly depress the shutter.

Normally, just removing the lens and putting it again you solve the problem. F-- problem means "there's no lens attached !"

Nikon d80 camera shows err error, when shutter is pressed the amount of shots remaining, shows er07. shutter works, but no picture is taken. Bracketing sign is also on display and wont go off.l

failure of the aperture unit is the usual cause - usually the contacts for the phase switch have come loose from the gear. You can find info on this by searching for the problem on the internet, including how to repair it.

PG UP ERROR IN NIKON D 200 CAMERA

Is this a D80 or a D200?

If you had a failure during firmware upgrade, then your circuit board is trashed. Send it to Nikon - it requires software to replace.

I've given up trying to remove the "err" message from my D80 . I've done everything that was suggested ! removed the lens , cleaned the lens contacts , removed the battery and added a new...

"ERR" is camera error. Two items to try:1/ remove battery while camera is ON while waiting for approx 30 seconds, press and hold the shutter release, insert battery and give it a go. 2/ if there is a camera hardware reset button try that with camera ON. There may be a firmware update on Nikon web site, but if you cannot read the memory card, you cannot install it.

I have a D80 since 2 years and since last 1 week have been getting the 'Err' message. Initially, after referring to the manual & pressing the shutter release button, the camera responded only ONCE. ...

Hi sandeepbhat2, On page 129 of the D80 manual is the factory reset switch. Look on the left side of the camera there is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is a small reset button. Give that a try. If still it does not work you should call Nikon.

I have the same camera, but never had this problem. I think there's something wrong with the shutter mirror or worst, the sensor. Did the viewfinder blacked out when you press the shutter? I think you need to bring it to Nikon repair shop....

Nikon D80 error msg "F--" and "r02"

Remove the lens, clean the contacts, reattach the lens, and jiggle the lens to seat the contacts. If that doesn't fix it, either the camera or the lens may require service.
