InFocus Screenplay 4805 to PS3 Playstation 3 - Blank screen
I bought a special adapter for DVI-M1 to HDMI and it shows only a white screen. Anyone else have this problem? Did you fix it? Any success stories? Thanks! =)

Your projector is DLP technology. It employs a "color wheel" to provide colors other than blank/white. That "pop" you heard unfortunately may have been a malfunction of the color wheel mechanism, probably the motor. (It runs at very high RPM)
Sounds like you may have to find a shop to service your projector.
Try setting the output of the PS3 to 720p or 1080i And if your not using the component video on the 4805 try that. If you are using an HDMI to M1-D adapter make sure it is HDCP compatible. (P&D)
M1-DA is a type of DVI connection that produces both analogue and digital signals, the easiest and most quality source cable for you to get is a HDMI to M1-DA cable which is now widely available for purchase.
Infocus should have included this cable in with your projector, but instead the power at bee decided to put a M1-DA to DVI-D cable instead when most visual devices now support HDMI and not DVI nowadays.
One possibility is that the Mirror behind the lense is dirty but I think that this also may be the light tunnel issue that I explained in a couple of other posts about the SP4805.
Yes, you can! But not straight out of the box. You need to purchase a DVI to HDMI cable adapter. It will convert it so your tv can use it. Here is a link to some:
Color wheel disc is broken and not repairable, problem is unless you know someone that can get the part you have to take your projector to an authorised service centre.
