I tried to convert my memory card storage capacity (from 1GB to 2GB using a software). After converting to 2B, mobile got switched off once the card is inserted into my phone(Sony Ericsson W580i model)
Memory card do not match your phone.

Yes, you will need an adapter unless you have a card reader that accepts that specific type of card.

1. If your memory card can be detected on your computer, then try to completely format the card.
2. Goto Start >> My Computer >> Right-Click the memory card icon >> Format >> Uncheck the Quick Format option >>
Start >> OK / Yes (confirm the request!).
3. If the memory card cannot be detected / readed by your PC, phone, or camera, then that card has become corrupt / unrepairable!
4. You should replace that memory card with a compatible one!

Or goto the ericsson website and download the correct software for your phone ( pc connectivity manager )
