You might try WD's website to see if you can get a new board for the drive.

SOURCE: i need firmware for Western Digital WD Caviar Blue

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning.

try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule the task on restart then defragment your hard drive

Wont read games only reads dvds

This is going to be a bit long -- but very detailed, so please read it carefully. There are several reasons that an xbox 360 system will have problem reading discs. The error messages also vary from unreadable disk, no message at all but the game skips, "please insert disc in a 360 console" to "open tray." There are a few reasons this may happen:

1.Bad disc. Check the back of your disc for scratches. If it looks good (or plays fine in another console), then the disc is probably fine. Also-- try more than 1 game to be sure.

2. Bad laser. The XBox 360 has a DVD drive very similar to a PC's DVD drive inside. The drive contains a bunch of parts including a few motors and gears and a laser. The laser is the part that actually reads the disc. The reality is...with all the hours and hours of game play, lasers do eventually wear out. The laser isn't very easy to replace, but it is replaceable. You can find any and all XBox 360 lasers at the following website:

http://store.richspsxparts.com/xb360ac.html

3.Bad DVD Drive. Sometimes other components inside of the DVD drive can become bad such as the motor that spins the disk, the motors that open the tray, etc, etc. You can get a new DVD drive to just replace everything, including the laser, in one shot but there is a catch. The XBOX 360's DVD drive is tied to the motherboard using a software lock. The easiest way to overcome this lock is to buy the exact same manufacture DVD drive that is in your system now, remove the circuit board from the old DVD drive (which contains the software key) and transfer the circuit board into the new DVD drive that you purchase. If you do this simple procedure, there is no flashing involved. The following website carries DVD drives and also provides instructions on swapping the circuit board from the old drive into the new one.

St3500320as bios not detect,i am using it as external hdd, once i used wrong power supply (original 12V, wrong 19V)and after that it was no detectable  in bios anymore, i can see some places on board...

I'm not sure I understand you correctly but this is what I think.
You tried to use the drive in an external case and the power supply was 19v. The drive really needs 12v. When you put it back inside a PC the bois does not detect it.

Id say it is destroyed. Do not wast you time with it.
If you think it is burned then it probably is.

My ps3 wont play blu ray movies or games but cds and dvds work fine

The Blu Ray Diode fried when you shut the power switch on in the back. The PS3 uses 2 different lasers to read disks. One for standard dvd's and cd's and one for Blu Ray. The only way to fix your PS3 is to replace the Blue Ray Diode or laser lens. I would recommend paying the $150 bucks to have sony replace unless you know something about Diodes and lasers.
If you hold down the eject button for 10 seconds it will reset your laser and then you should be able to shut the power down in back safetly.
Formatting and or resetting the hard drive won't do a thing if your diode is fried.
I found a work-around to get it to read discs though. You have to have a bluray disc in the drive (game or movie) and start a downloaded game or Playstation Home. Once the game or Home loads, hit the PS button on the controller. The crossbar menu will pull up and you will notice the disc icon will (magically) pop up. Click the quit game icon. Once you are out of the downloaded game or Home the disc icon will still be there. You can then load the game or disc. The icon will remain there until you eject the disc, so you will have to repeat this every time you want to load a game.

Check What Resolution You Have Saved On the PS3 Maybe When It goes Blu-Ray Its To High Res For The Standard TV..
if you felt i have spent my time to help you... a very helpful rating is appreciated for answering ur query...

Fried HD?

Yep, it's probably fried, a little too much juice went in.
While the drive itself might be ok, the external casing is another story.

Try opening the case and removing the HD and plugging that in on your PC directly as a slave drive.

Dead Freeagent 500GB Drive...

I don't know which drives they use in Freeagent, or even how you open the case (don't remember seeing any screws on mine), but Seagate drives (baraccuda especially) are known to have a weakness with the diode between 12V and Ground.

If it seems like it's shorting, (put a meter across the power input before you bother opening it - if it's reading about 1 Ohm, this may be your issue) might be worth opening the case and checking for a small square surface-mount diode marked BUX C??? (? being a variable number). If it's shorted, then clip it out for a quick-and-dirty backup of your data & bin the drive, or fix with a suitable replacement diode (SMD 1N4004 has been suggested).

Hard Drive Problem

This has happened to me once. I unplugged it overnight and plugged is back in and everything (Except for the for the DVD that was being written when it malfunctioned) Worked fine. I suspect that a Capacitor is going bad but it’s still working (for 4 months) and I will put off any real trouble shooting until it fails hard.

Can you see this drive in the BIOS, My Computer or Device Manager?
If not, you need to re-check the cables. If so, it may be defective.
