Possible that the fall has damaged the mother board and so there can be CRACK ON THE MOTHER BOARD. So you need to remove power cord and check using a good inspection lamp on the board for broken circuit board. Use a good soldering iron with wire strips to join - take care not to short circuits as each line must be tested for short and continuity.
if yes take the mother baord out of cabinet . place the mother bord on an insulating surface with proceesor . then connect smps ... poweron the board by shortin the frnt panel connectors . connect all peripehrals like monitor , kb and mouse etc ..... if this seems to be working try to insulate the cabin whre mother board is fixed ................ SMPS can also cause no power try chekin with another smps too
Which model?
Are the beeps 1 long, 2 short, 1 short, or just continuously short?
Continuously = RAM needs checked and/or replaced (you can download either Memtest or the Microsoft Memory Diagnostics CD's to check it)
1 long and 2 short or 1 long, 3 short = VGA card needs checked
the motherboard and the power box should be replaced. you hade a short and the power box went out and the mother board shorted out as well. If you replace the mother board you will see. This happens alot to people. Check out the numbers on the board at type it in the web and find out what kind you have. you can find motherboards cheap on ebay.
