Dl-524UP WLAN light

My router was yesterday I noticed that the working fine a week ago, then when i started playing WLAN light on my Dl-524UP Wireless router isn't even on. I can't connect wirelessly to the internet from my other computer like before. All of the other lights are normal and everything IS plugged into the right spot. I CAN connect to the internet from one computer, which is plugged into the router via a cable, but not wirelessly from the other.
I have tried reseting the router, and checked all the settings and I had no luck. The Wireless USB reciever on the other computer IS connected properly, and running well. But it cannot recieve any signals from the router.

SOURCE: D-Link DI-534 Starting up problems

Try resetting the router . Press the reset button for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds unplug the power cable but continue pressing the reset button for another 30 seconds after 30 seconds plug in back the power cable and continue pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and release it after 10 seconds.

try to open an Internet browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. It should give you the DLink page. Once you have that configure your connection.

SOURCE: Connecting Laptop wireless and Desktop wired to the router

Do you need to see the desktop or just share folders from each other? If the latter then you need to do the following:

Use Windows Explorer and select a folder you want to share. Right click and select sharing and security.

On the sharing tab click on Share this folder. Enter a share name ( I like to enter the PC name _folder name; Rick1_Downloads)

Click on Permissions. If your ok with everyone using the PC's and Laptops having access then highlight Everyone and click on Full Control.

Do this on each PC and Laptop.

That should be it or darned near close.

SOURCE: After replacing Cable Modem, D-Link DI-524 Wireless will not work

Hi Serina - first of all: what a great post! Very detailed and professional. I just have to say that, since I'm reading here lots of "interesting" questions sometimes.

To your problem:
Apparenatly the router does the "routing" part well, since you can access the internet via cable. The problem is the wireless access point.
Your IP output looks actually good - I can't see any problems with the values. What I would try to do is to disable IPv6, since it is only used on your internal LAN and not yet implemented on the WAN side. This page (link) has a good write-up on the how-to. Don't do the registry part - just disable it in the Properties window.

I had noticed conflicts on computers where IPv4 and v6 were installed simultaniously.

Try it and see if that corrects the problem. If it does not, please let me know.If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

I have a D-link DSL-2750U router worked fine till yesterday, but now its power led keeps on giving a red light it should give green a second or two later but it keeps givings

Reset router. There are two resets. A simple push reboots and holding it in clears all custom settings. Try the first.

This is a quick fix and usually does it. Test with network cable and work your way backwards to modem if you still have problems.

Please check whether your computer's wireless connection enabled or disabled. If you are using windows 7 this information you can find in network sharing center. By accident if WLAN is disabled it can be enabled. Also power cycling the router may do the trick.
More drastic approach is resetting the router which I recommend to reserve as last resort. With information you provided the router seems to be fine and your computer wireless need to be enabled!
good luck!

Hello there sir, FixYa pro member is on your service!

Well it looks like your wlan output has been blocked somehow, I want you to take your D-Link wireless router behind, notice little restart button on it, press it and hold it for 10 secconds in that position, after that use your router will be on factory settings, then WLAN ports should be automatically opened. If not just check wlan status enabled . Thanks for asking fixya.com sir have a nice day! :)

Please rate my solution if you have a moment or so, thanks in advance.

Laptops not picking up on wireless signal

You will need to replace the router. This is typical of the failure pattern of all wireless routers. If you continued using the router on the wireless you would begin to notice those connected by wire disconnected and then quickly reconnecting again.

Unfortunetly this is typical of any home grade wireless router after 1-2 years of use or age. About all you can do is to do a hard reset and/or upgrade the router system software. That can regain use of the wifi for a while but it will fail again usually within a few weeks or days.

Best advice is to replace it with a new one. NetGear or D-Links are both reccomended. Linksys is not. If you check out the sales you should be able to find a good replacement for less than what you paid for the one you have giving you trouble. We replace about 2-3 wireless routers a week with these problems. Have tried fixing them even with the factory tech rep on the phone and in the end just ended up junking them.

SMC2804WBR router: The lights are on but nobody's home.

Sounds like the router is about to die. I had the same issue with a wireless router a few years ago. It would broadcast but I would not be able to get onto the wireless no matter what I did but plugging straight into the modem and it worked just fine. If you've done a hard reset and it is still not connecting or staying connected, it is about time to replace the router.
